Looks like the intermission is not only a reference to the Full Metal Alchemist intermissions, but to the manga itself. If you looked at the book spine of the tomes (the true one under the external fold cover) you could see the characters who died ascending to Heaven, so you could immediately know who dies in the tome if you decide to check that first. In both episodes, the character appearing in the first half of the intermission has been the character who got eliminated.

Unlike ovenbreak, who has multiple of their characters in the latest and old stories. It’s only their anniversary events and “sometimes”. Christmas events where they get recognized. Another thing; devsisters gives WAY TOO MUCH attention to the old cookies, and not “middle ones” like Wildberry, Financier, or Captain Caviar
