This Internship was amazing and I learned a lot of things. The most important skill I learned is communication. I used to suck at it.
To clarify, extending the internship is like giving me more opportunity to complete more coding tasks.
For the first two months, I worked as a QA tester and I was able to complete one coding task before the 3 months reached. He wanted me to complete more to see if I can join their team.
I understood where he was coming from. But I have already decided to try the international job market.
I don’t know if I might regret this decision. But I’ll try my best to make sure I don’t.
Grateful appreciation to all who have joined me on this journey. Your encouragement means the world to me. May your aspirations blossom, and may we all achieve success together.

The exploitation that goes on in the tech industry is alarming. 3 month isn't enough to access your skills?? That's crazy. Yh! The experience is something. And I pray you the best in your job search 🙏

Its crazy how they had 3 months to access your skill and didn't, how much more if you had decided to extend it. I pray the job market is fair to you. Good luck Emilia.

In the US this not legal. You cannot be an intern and make the company money, is so you must be paid. I took a path like you except never interned, freelancing is really demoralizing at time, but this internship is absolutely not worth it. Keep pushing with freelance and take a second job doing something else until then. I washed dishes and freelance programmed after work.

Don't let these companies disrespect you like that, offering pennies to work full time. 3 month is more than enough to assess your abilities. This is BS don't let them do that 🤬 Just so you know, if they don't respect you and your time now what would they do once you are fully committed to them?
@emiliaverse
@emiliaverse 2 ай бұрын
You’re right. I took that into consideration as well. They are actually a nice company, but I don’t see myself interning that long for pennies pleaseee.

Your boss is manipulative, so he couldn't acces your skills in the first 2 month?
@emiliaverse

I honestly think the major issue is from my end. I need to start speaking up more. When I started I worked as a QA tester for 2 months. Although I informed him that I was here to code. So somewhere along the line he forgot the internship was 3 months. Then when I started coding it was just one task I could complete and three months reached. Extending the internship is like giving me more time to complete more coding tasks. But I decided not to take it.

@emiliaverse oh I see. Maybe you can try to extend for an extra 1 month. It's one of those sacrifices we make to achieve our goals.

@@Truth_818 Yeah it’s true. But, I want to try my luck with the international job market. I just hope it works out. If it doesn’t, I might regret this decision. It’s 50/50
