The last hour of the 2021 Leadville 100 was filled with energy and joy as the final finishers crossed the line. The streets were lined with spectators to cheer every last person in! It was a magical hour.

So glad you posted this. I know several runners whose goal is just to make it before the cutoff. When you think about it, it's an incredible achievement just to be on your feet for nearly 30 hours!

That’s the truth! They are the people with the most grit in my opinion. That’s such a long time to be mentally strong, especially when you’ve missed a full night of sleep. Crazy!

Thanks for posting this. So many clips are about elite runners finishing but these people at the back of the pack are my inspiration. They pushed on and all were smiling at the finish.

These are the people that make me cry tears of joy and inspire me to be a better athlete as well! I think these people have the best stories as well. I’d like to share more of them here.

Thanks for posting, saw my buddy in there! Paced him for the last 24 miles then ducked out on the outside of the barricade at the end so I didn't steal any thunder from him 😉. Super cool to see a bunch of the people we were going with at the end there.

Always awesome to see the last hour. I find myself admiring the last finishers more than the winners because of the near double amount of time they are out there.

Exactly! It’s so impressive when you think of it that way on top of all the night ruining, hail, rain and cold weather they had to deal with.

This was my favorite video yet! The elites are amazing, but these people are truly inspiring... these are my peeps! Congrats to them all! The smiles at the end, even in the midst of the pain, hit me right in the feels.
