it is definitely funny, i feel like LL was a great example of people being afraid of Etho based off of vibes. But even in Etho's episodes when he got Boogey, he'd mute and freak out about it :P hes always been like that... and just ran w everyone's impression of him lol

But he's always been denying people's statements about his pvp abilities, it's just that until now, nobody was listening to him! Lol Etho is just tactical enough at pvp to be scary. Like, only until this season (and even a bit last season) he was reckless and that's what made him lose such reputation (and he also died to Gem like, 30+ times, which was in perfect timing with the whole washed up convo). He knows how to stay alive, but he's not a fighter.

@@taytaythehufflepuff8532 in the past he definitely built that reputation of good pvp for reason tho tbh. but its also a fact that he hasnt played much of any pvp focused things in minecraft for a looong time. mindcrack/death games and UHC days he actively was fighting people, and he was good at it! i think its well worth complimenting how good he was at it. so, his skill in fighting definitely exists alongside his ability to survive. i dont doubt at all that the lack of death match games would just become rusty. its hard to lose the skill of surviving though when thats the biggest point of minecraft lol. so nowadays? yeah, he can survive, and i dont think his pvp can keep up with the mch more intense gameplay styles newer/more focused pvpers have now (like Gem). the whole timing for Gem and Etho was golden lol. very much a great and ironic coincidence for Etho to get decimated by Gem, only to then face her in lim life too.... im sure if that washed up joke hadnt happened, no one would have thought too hard about it haha. edit: just realized i replied from the wrong acc lol. this is OP

@@MorrysIllusion Yeah, exactly When you have a good rep for something, it's easy to keep up... but once it's broken... man, Etho's lost all respect from absolutely everyone in the pvp front, sadly. Consider, while yes surviving is the most important aspect of the game, not all are good at it. (Clumsy falls off of things, like ladders... or dying to random mobs.) It's also worth noting that he can use combat weapons in PvE settings (I've seen videos of him fighting off creepers and the like without glancing, but low-key flailing about to other players) But yeah, not frequently doing something can make the quality degrade quickly... and I'm sure game mechanics changing also doesn't make to adapting to pvp now a days very easy.

(hard to read ton if text) looking at someone like Gem, and honestly? any good MCC players- theyre like, genuinely a different level than any casual player for sure. of course thats not the *only* obstacle etho was facing (tbh i just think his nerves were getting the better of him for a bit there. he performed very well in his last episode imo and while it wasnt pvp focused, his actions in the gem episode etc felt more influenced by nerves overall), but obviously the impression Gem left (and what carried into the ep Gem was in for sure) rly showed me personally that the players who absolutely consistently are playing to be good will always surpass those who dont do so- its more than just etho... i mean, we saw multiple hermits get destroyed by Gem in that same episode she fought etho haha. hes just the only one that had a impression ppl didnt shake because there was a huge reason to doubt it... compared to what had happened in previous season he wasnt doing poorly, even in pvp scenarios. even as an old player myself all these mechanic changes sure are something. bdubs and etho joke about never using sheilds and i do that same! because they werent a thing for so long! id get beat hard by a player whos more accustomed to the newer game and has made sure to practice for it lol, even if i am a good player....

It's not included bc it wasn't specifically a conversation between etho or bdubs. Everything around it was included when it was purely them talking. I cut out everything between their conversations bc I didn't want to focus on it at all
