Rebecca is both one of my favorite novels and one of my favorite movies. It makes a great musical. I wish we could see it in the states.

same here. and the problems they've had getting this to Broadway is likely why we'll never get "Elisabeth" either.

Interesting, that the measure was changed for this demo to 4/4, in the german version it's 3/4.

And the key, well this key is usually used in the reprise at the end which I find works as it's a minor at the start and major at the end which implies it ends on a happier note.

Saw her in the Miss Saigon concert not long ago, would love to see her playing 'I' if this was ever done in English again (I'd love Ramin Karimloo as Maxim too, Norm Lewis as Frank, Pia Dowes as Mrs Danvers and Kealla Settle as Mrs Van Hopper too)

They should probably work on the lyrics... it's a pretty enough song, though. Can't wait to hear Sierra Boggess blow it out of the water :)

KrolockAbronsius if you look up "Rebecca the musical 2017" and click on it, it should take you to the website where it has some of the songs and it has this same songs that sound more like it's from a live cast and you can understand the lyrics more. I hope this helps

@wiwo6567 Yeah People say often German because its Gemran-languaged ^^ Im very happy I saw this in Vienna, other Musicals like Elisabeth, TdV came to GER but this will never I think... Maybe it really wouldt fit.. But NOW its on Broadway, isnt it? I Hope, they dont destroy it like they did with TdV... :O

I think Bernadette Peters could play Mrs Danvers unhinged really well but I think Idina Menzel would sing it better.

@Shithabbens Ich weiß auch nicht, ich konnte es mir irgendwie nicht vorstellen... Weil es zu der Zeit, als ich es sah, noch wirklich unbekannt war :-) Bin aber froh, die Originalbesetzung gesehen zu haben. Besonders Susan hat mich sehr beeindruckt - nichtmal Pia wird da jemals herankommen :-)

This was recorded before it opened in Vienna. So it has vastly changed since then. The english was the original source material. :-)

Nope. The german Material is the Original.

@@jennyfair482 No. This was recorded in 2003 as a demo recording for the show when it was still in development, recorded by the cast of Elisabeth in Essen at the time.
