Great job man! Massive amount of techniques. I loved the grading of the old one more, it's more moody and mysterious and the house looks like it's more involved in the story than the new one ... But overall both are great, and thank you for sharing all this information .. it was really helpful!

Both artwork are great but I personally like the first one more.Even if you said the perspective is off and the composition "unprofessional", it just looks better to me, more vibrant and I like the general ambiance.

Which proves my point, I do like the old work too and I think it's better in lighting and color, but I'm more proud of the new one and I do believe it's more professional

@@REDOUANENAOURI I can only believe you when you say the composition is more professional, I don't have your experience but at the end, weither it follows established rules or not, what's important is what people feels when they look at your artwork. I also do like the lighting of the first one, more contrasted, I feel like it translate more the vibe of last of us and the post-apo atmosphere.

@@ksemi I did not think of it that point, and the reason for that is because when I made the old one I was into fantasy classic photomanipulation and since then I started to learn about matte painting which is a field that teaches realism, that what made me try to make the artworks more realistic, but is the old work really giving the last of us vibe ? I think the new one is closer to the game poster.

@@REDOUANENAOURI It does to me but that's my personal taste and point of view. Concerning artwork, I'm more into fantasy or even digital painting renders than pure realism so it might explain why I like the first one more. I understand your point though and why others may also like the second one. Thank you for taking time to answer and moreover for sharing your knowledge with us! I learnt so much from your videos.

@@ksemi I started art first to escape reality and show my imagination but unfortunately I couldn't because stock images now control my ideas, until I learn 3D and painting I think I will stick to these kind of realistic works. It is my pleasure, thank you for supporting the channel.

What happens if you dont convert to smarb object and rasterize in the blend if technique?

Blend if depends on the colors and lighting of an object, if you don't rasterize the layer and you change the colors or the lighting of that object it will more likely to lose areas ( details )

Actually everyone says old one is good. Yeah thats ture! But In my opinion old one far away from realistic. I mean it has color like painted. many color variations and calm tone. But new one much realistic like realtime looking and its dig in to whole mind Fiil up brain 'oh this looking very real one' when we look at once.

That's what I said, in my personal opinion there's no way the old one is better in any way, I do understand it's a taste thing and some people don't like things to be extra realistic because art should be a way to escape reality, but logically the new one is far better technical wise.
