The Marks LH7 Ranch was one of the largest ranches in Southeast Texas before being eaten away at by Barker Reservoir, neglect, and real estate development.
Located off Barker-Clodine Road near I-10. Publicly accessible park and historical marker.

My grandfathers grandfather was EH Marks. Thank you so much for this video. I spent my childhood in the 80s and 90s at the LH7 and this video brought tears to my eyes. Thank you again for this.

I'd like to hear one on the Brio site as well. I worked at San Jacinto College South Campus, located across Beamer Rd from the site, from 1983 to 2004. A joke that some of us used to tell each other was how glad we were that the EPA put up a chain link fence around the site to protect us from all the chemicals. We sure felt safe knowing that the wind wouldn't blow any through the fence and the runoff from the rain wouldn't flow through the fence and flood Beamer Rd (that section of Beamer Rd. would flood in any type of heavy rain.)

My parents own the ranchette where the map marker is for Blimp Base ranch, although someone else owns a much larger piece encompassing the old air station.

Maudeen was a character. She was always dressed to the nines at the trail rides. She was so sweet. Great lady. Life well lived.

I remember when there was next to nothing out in that area. I also remember when they built loop 610 and the Astrodome.

I remember in the '70s, after a rain shower hippies would park all along state Hwy.6 and go 'shroom hunting. I never hunted 'shrooms there but did hunt them to the West of Spring!

Howdy EH wasn't born in Galveston Tx. The ranch in Bandera Tx was sold bc the government wanted inheritance taxes too much inheritance taxes. We lost everything to the government
