My Last Ride on the Triumph Bonneville T120, Very Sad to see this one go and have enjoyed riding this motorcycle over the last week. Has definitely made my mind up i need one of the Bonneville range in my garage. Any questions you want to know let me know in the comments below? Cheers Nick 👍

That was a good review. It was interesting to see the slight changes between this model and the previous one, the one I have. So with that in mind, may I suggest potential T120 Bonneville purchasers should consider the following before they choose new (2021 onwards) or second hand (2016-202 series). The new bike has 1. Slightly different engine internals apparently meaning slight better acceleration and maximum torque at a higher 3,500 RPM 2. Cruise control. 3. Alloy rims. 4. Slightly different dial faces. 5. Euro 5 compliance. 6. Is slightly lighter. 7. It’s brand new and it’s YOURS. A second hand, previous generation bike will give you as standard 1. A rear handrail 2. Heated grips. 3. Chrome rims and pipes (if not the Black model) 4. A centre stand. 5. Maximum torque at 3,100 RPM. 6. It’s cheaper saving you several thousand pounds. With this in mind you have to decide which you want. Personally I like the chrome, use the heated grips and use the centre stand every 200 miles to lube the chain. What has not changed between the series is the handling or overall performance. As I see it, buying a Bonneville means committing to buying a non-sporting bike that looks good in the garage or parked up, rides well and is great fun to pootle around the roads on. With 79 BHP and 105 Nm you have enough grunt to give most cars a run for their money, easily do a ton and give you a big grin. At 63 MPG you will get a 180-190 mile range to empty. Maximum torque being delivered low down means a lazier riding style then other more revvy bikes. Hopefully the low redline will mean longer engine life for whichever you choose . I hope this helps.

@@MOTOUK1 That's good to hear. I test rode a new 2019 a while back and the bike was a chore on curvy roads, It had to be forced into turns. I have not yet been able to test ride 2021 model as of yet here in the Washington D.C, area. When I was 17 I wanted so bad a new 1970 Bonnie 650 but alas I could not afford one. I had a BSA 250 when I was 16. At the time (17 years of age) I ended up getting a Honda CB 350. I now own a 2016 Motto Guzzi V7 II Stone, A 2015 Harley Super Low 1200 T and a new 2020 KTM 790 Adventure S that I bought in December 2020 (my favorite ride as of now). But as I said above I am glad to hear that the "new" T-120 handling has vastly improved. I cannot wait to be able to test ride one to experience the ride first hand. The only thing I cannot understand is why Triumph could not have the overall weight of the T-120 to be less than it is (the 1970 Bonnie 650 weighed 366 pounds dry). Most likely will have to sell my Harley to be able to buy the T-120 though if I end up lovin' the "new" T-120, oh well. Anyway, Remember What the Doormouse Said and always ride defensively. ;-)

I ride my T120 in rain mode after the first start of the day. This greatly smooths out the power delivery and throttle, as it's meant to do. The jerkiness is not a fault; it's the result of the enormous torque delivered to the rear wheel. On subsequent starts, I'll just leave it in road mode, where, for some reason, power delivery is now very linear. Keep in mind when choosing between the Speed Twin and the T120 that the Speed Twin has no cruise control. A factory CC kit cannot be fitted because the ECU of the "high power" engine has no CC map at all. This is true of the Thruxton R as well. Older T120s can be retrofitted with Triumph's CC kit. They are already fully wired and only need to have the kit installed and CC activated at the dealer. Avon Roadrider II tires really improved my T120's handling over that of the OE Pirellis.

I agree ☝️ I think the T-100 is better handling more nimble and practical all around bike . One thing I don’t like about it is I think that Triumph needs to upgrade the front brake ( not necessarily dual rotors like that T-120 , but at least give it a 4 part like they put on the Street Twin … the T-100 only has a two piston front brake ) and it needs riding modes like Street Twin . And lastly, it really needs a 6th gear ( as well as the street twin and street scrambler )

I know this an older video but it's always good to see um. There's a new color now I believe, a dark gray. Black is cool but i like chrome some. I know you said you don't but all of one color gets old. Plus, black hides the lines. The shapes that make vehicles bad. My 2005 is a slate gray. But the 2001 through 8 i believe came factory with chrome transmission cover and clutch cover. I also have the chrome chain guard, headlight bucket etc. With all the frame being black, I think the colors blend well. Everyone has their preference. I did spring for the factory barends. 200 bucks, but they're a really good quality. I do like the classic style of the triumph, BSA and Norton. The only thing I wish bike builders would do is fatten and widen the rear tire. Rear tires always seem wimpy looking. Especially when the seat is jacked up 6 or more inches off the tire. When I get a new rear tire, gonna try to get a bit more fat one. I have to laugh about the newer extended stems on the mirrors. I know people complained about not being able to see behind too well. So they lengthened the stems. Just looks weird. This'll probably be my last bike, so I kinda wish I'd have found a 120 I liked instead of the 100. But at 70, the 100 is strong enough. Last I wrote u, you said you don't have a triumph yet. So I guess you didn't make up your mind. Personally, more than 1 street bike is a lot to take care of. I've had up to 3 at once, and found myself always only riding 1. So the others sit and tires get bad, gas gets bad, seals go dry. So I sold my VMAX and Honda CB 750, and now have just the Bonnie. And thats plenty. Thanks for the look see. Ride safe, take care,✌️

@@MOTOUK1 The cool thing about your gig with your channel,is u ride so many different bikes. Most of us make our decision and are stuck with them. Because as we know, everything depreciates the moment you drive it off the lot. But yes I totally understand your " so many choices", comment. There are so many bikes that are so cool, but which one do you want to spend 15 grand on? Or Euros, ha! It's just nice to ride. You have that luxury in what you do for work. A different bike every week. And u have yours at home to ride when you're not doing a video review. That's envious in itself. Take care,

@@peterford9369 thanks 🙏 one thing riding many bikes has done is make me realise that you can ride a bike for an hour and not like it, as it feels different to maybe what your used too. Then after 2 weeks absolutely love it!. So when riders only get an hours test ride at dealers if they are lucky, they can never get a true feel if it’s the bike for them or not!.

Thank you for your very comprehensive review on this bike. I currently ride a Moto Guzzi Audace for touring and a Moto Guzzi Vlll for local riding. The Audace is getting too heavy for me due to my advancing years. I have been looking for something in between the two for some relaxed touring. However I like the classic look which doesn't leave much to choose from. The T120 seems to fit the bill, but I have been unable to test ride one due to adverse weather. I am hoping to get on one next week when the weather breaks. This review and your first one on this bike has answered several of my questions. I was able to sit on one at the dealership which kind of gave me a general idea about the bike. I wish Moto Guzzi would build a more road going version of the V85TT but I don't believe that will happen in the near future. The V85 is just too tall. Again thank you for this thorough review. I haven't been able to find anything on the net that wasn't just a gloss over on this bike. Excellent work on your part.
