Rioli won that game for Yartapuulti as much as Byrne Jones did, the composure to know how much time is left on the clock, go back and slot it from outside 50 within a few seconds is something not many players in the league would be able to do.

I was at the game and it was amazing! My 9 year old son who is a massive Port fan was so heart broken at half time thinking we were gonna lose and seeing him in happy tears as they scored the winning goal was amazing. Hawthorne were better throughout and well played, but wow what a finish!

Being at the game it was a very hard match to watch. Port just couldn’t get it together and I thought we were definitely going to go down to the Hawks who played amazingly, it was frustrating me how good Hawks were and how poor we were playing. Port didn’t give up and that for me was the highlight of this game. It just goes to show it never pays to give up, you never know what might happen if you believe. Port didn’t deserve to win but they didn’t just lay down either. After DBJ got that goal, the crowd going crazy was a definite highlight, I was joining in which normally I don’t yell. It was insane. Who gives a damn where our opponents are placed on the AFL ladder? I really don’t. I just love a team who doesn’t give up. Port had no right winning this game but by some miracle they did. I’m glad I got to witness it live and be apart of it. You don’t get to see games like that often. I was there for the St Kilda one a few years ago too. One thing I will say, you should never leave until the final siren. Anything can and does happen. Keep going Port. 🌸🌸

What a win for Yartapuulti. Ken will still have a few things to say about the first half performance but full credit where credit is due, they stormed home from 41 points down in a game that went to the wire.

This was the first game I went to in about 15 years and it was a crazy finish. Only time Port took the lead was the last few seconds and you had no idea how much time was left with the clock counting up

this was one of the most incredible final qtr come back i seen port do for years.. how lucky it was that rioli kicked it and didnt milk the clock, just those few extra seconds would change the entire outcome of the game. crazy chit

18-20 doesn’t suggest that and yes i did watch the same. Hawks were favoured in the 1st quarter and youse were favoured in the 4th quarter. Even ball game otherwise the Hawks nearly had you on toast lucky they can’t play 4 quarters

@musiceditz23 I reckon the umpires were told that the free kick count was a bit one sided so they tried to even it up a bit by the end of the game because I checked the count earlier in the game and it was all one sided but evened up by the end of it.

One of the greatest finishes in the history of the Australian Football League. In a way, this is almost reminiscent of two games. One at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Mother's Day in 2017 where Richmond took the lead courtesy of a Brandon Ellis goal with 21 seconds remaining, then a clutch scramble and clearance by Lachie Neale was followed by a David Mundy mark. He stole the game and won it after the siren for Fremantle. And another at the Adelaide Oval where Port Adelaide were up by 8 points with less than a minute remaining. Then Mark LeCras kicked a clutch goal, bringing West Coast to within 2 points with 43 seconds remaining and finally, Jeremy McGovern marked the ball with 27 seconds remaining. He kicked truly after the siren, leaving Power fans heartbroken. Now, Hawthorn knows what it feels like to lose like that. Two goals, one to bring the Power within 5 points with just 22 seconds remaining and one with less than 8 seconds remaining, made the difference. One more to add - Bris vs Geelong at the Gabba in 2013 (The miracle on grass). 18 seconds remaining, ball is in Brisbane's back pocket they complete an 8-goal last quarter turn around to win by after the siren with a kick from Ash McGrath

Throw in the Karmiachael Hunt game as well. Tigers were up by 10 with 30 seconds left. That was it. It looked like the Suns were done for all money, then a Harbrow goal gave them life. And Karmichael Hunt, bloody Karmichael Hunt goes back and kicks a goal after the siren.

I will be honest I am Hawks fan and we played well for 3 quarters which you wouldn't expect from a team who is a bottom 4 contender and did it against the Power who beat the Cats last week who were unstoppable for 7 weeks whoch include beating Carlton. Too bad we lost, what a choke. I don't want stuff in the comments about they choked or the frees. We played well for 3 quarters against a good side and we choked.
