I agree with your statement, even though I know Diane doesn’t want him to lose his self, he doesn’t want to miss out on himself and his friends but he doesn’t want any of his outside influences to hinder his marriage, something some men don’t know how to choose between the two either they give over to One too much over to the other and then there’s some who know how to balance both, but I commend her husband I understand he doesn’t want anything to interfere in his love for his children and his wife, He does it he’s committed to his family, and he doesn’t feel like he’s losing his self he feels he’s Feels he has gained something tremendous, What a smart wonderful man, he knows exactly what he’s doing and I would not give it any second thought, He may know something about certain friendships maybe it’s not even worth talking about , not saying that his friends are bad people , but maybe he doesn’t desire or have any need with them anymore because he’s moved on to bigger and better things and He’s a very content what is lifestyle and he feels very fulfilled already. Also, if Korean husbands try to use the paternity leave, what they hear from others is like “Your wife must be rich enough to feed you” or “Your wife must be a specialized profession such as doctor or lawyer.” Still, many old generation people in Korea view paternity leave as something that husbands use because they don’t want to work or they are incompetent at the workplace. Unless social prejudice and peer pressure change towards the paternity leave, it will still make it difficult for majority of Korean husbands to use the paternity leave in Korea.
