Hey doc, i treat my computer like my phone. It get a cover and screen protector. My Mac has a thin plastic cover, it’s only for scratches, but it also sets it apart from all the other silver Mac’s. Anyway awesome looking bag, looks like something made by Fjällräven (mean that as a compliment) good luck with you “maiden voyage” BIC is a French brand btw, just info no judgement guess it’s the same deal as a Mac - designed one place and made in another. Was it wera bits I spied in the bike tool?

precision screwdriver(s) from Moody if you want US-made. or Picquic Teeny-turner if you consider Canada a colder, bigger US State with more beavers and mooses per square meter. 😏 an excellent and durable made in USA strap pad is the old Domke postal pad. 😽

Thanks for the lead. Maratac has a sense of humor with this: "Disclaimer: Although the EOD Breacher Tool was developed and designed to enter the real world of urban combat, and with a little work with a file, belt sander, grinder, stone or a rock to it could be sharpened and converted to a Deadly stabbing or slashing instrument we can't recommend it. Likewise, the flat on the handle end should not be used as a skull or rib crusher or for performing other blunt trauma. Sorry these are not returnable. Be safe, and don't play with matches or run with scissors."

Doc, you're probably a mac guy, but in the future keep an eye on System76 for laptops, they do have partially made in usa desktop computers, obviously the components inside are near impossible to get USA of everything. I heard they are working on made in usa laptop again might just be the parts they can get away with. But I think they are on the right track at least. They do work on their own Linux distribution variant too. I share your frustration on getting any USB reader type device in USA. With all the clever people out there you'd think we'd have dozens of them. I wonder if anyone rolls their own using 3D printed enclosures, because seems to be a very personalization type thing. As always, learned a lot from this video. I think Atlas46 might at some point spread out to some non-tool bag things and get into EDC. No idea, but I would NOT be surprised. Recently they've been showing cool Christmas gifts and they are selling a Grace Screwdriver kit, also USA made.

The less "Tactical" looking the better, alot of people seem to be going back to leather and canvas bags, same for wallets...most of the people I know who tried the ridge wallet or equivalent ended up switching back to leather minimalist style wallets, haven't tried the axwell, looks cool tho....LW Out :)

I looked but don't see what I'm looking for like the PB Swiss type handle/holder. I also searched eBay for USA-made vintage precision screwdrivers, and most are the tiny bits that fit on a handle but not store in the handle. I have plenty of Craftsman precision drivers, but each individual, and now considered vintage even though I bought them new. Wonder how that happened?

Beautiful bag! Might need some tape - a few feet of duct tape - and perhaps a few feet of steel wire. I mostly use 17ga galvanized "electric fence" wire made in USA because I have a mile or two on hand, but up to 20 or 24 ga "hobby wire" or stainless steel tie wire is often strong enough (stainless is tough stuff) and easier to handle. Good for all kinds of field expedient things such as improvising a handle repair on a bag. With a Clamp-Tite (made in USA) or DIY version the wire can be a hose clamp but also tightly connect things together, e.g. broken bottle bracket to downtube. I also like to have a few band-aids in my bag when I'm not carrying a small first aid kit.

Hey Doc, check out the Wolf tooth/1UpUSA multitool. If you have a 1Up rack (the best bike rack made), you’ll have a very small 3/8 security hex to remove the rack. AND, the tools seem to be smaller. It may be the more precision bits you are looking for. Still would love to see you review MTB EDC….

you'll pay thousands for something made in china but not dollars? :-P I'm all for made in usa and will buy from here if i can, but i don't see anything wrong with something made in china. i do have a problem with chinese clones of usa products or china products made by known problem factories... otherwise every country makes things and if you like the thing, enjoy it. :-) if you can buy an alternative made in the usa even better, but just my thoughts... also, benchmade are the best knifes ever. arguments not accepted! ;-) haha
