I looked you up on KZfaq after reading your article about Why do gifted autistic children fly under the radar? I'm 44 and also learning now that I'm autistic. I'm waiting for an official diagnosis...but I already know. Once I started watching videos and reading about it.. I was in shock. Everything is my life began to make so much sense. I took several online tests to make sure..(7 of them) and scored high on all of them. This was almost a week ago and I have been crying non stop..feeling such a tremendous amount of grief.. as if my whole life has been a sham. I was a gifted child. I was so smart and advanced in my academia that they never thought to look at the other things..like how I didn't talk to people ..had difficulty with other tasks. And I learned this thing I do since I was a baby...of rubbing my fingers on a particular type of cloth for comfort...was actually stimming. I really don't know where to start and I feel so incredibly overwhelmed that it feels like my brain has completely shut off suddenly. And wad hoping you could point me in the right direction for information and support groups. Or anything. Thanks for writing that article and making these videos.
