The distance between Heraklion old harbor and Rethymno old harbor is approximately 80 kilometers, and it takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to drive between the two locations.
It is a scenic route that follows the northern coast of the island of Crete
It offers stunning views of the sea and the surrounding landscape. The road is well-maintained and generally in good condition, making for a pleasant and relatively easy drive. Along the way, you will pass through charming villages, olive groves. It’s a delightful drive to Rethymno which is also a charming town that seamlessly blends history, culture, and natural beauty as all of Cretan towns.

and now we made it to Hasika restaurant. That was a recommendation by Our friend Chef Poppy recommended this restaurant to us when we were in Agios Nikolaos, and we were so eager to try it, and as we took our first bite’s quickly this charming restaurant became one of our favorite places to eat. Delicious Greek food with a twist.
Located in a small street in the old town with warm yet also modern atmosphere .
We enjoyed it so much.
After our lunch we headed back to Chania which is 45 minutes drive.
The sun was setting after a day filled with discoveries, from our starting point in Agios Nikolaos, then Knossos in Heraklion, then the walking tour in Heraklion, finally the lunch in Rethymno.
What a day,
