THE CHRONICLES

9 жыл бұрын

The Chronicles Vlog #4 is a multi-part mini-series documenting our two-week long adventures in Japan. This series is filled with a ton of random, interesting content and we not only travel to Tokyo for the Tokyo Auto Salon 2015 event, but also tour various tuning shops in throughout. In this series you will also follow us from Tokyo to Osaka and everyone in-between.
For the ninth installment in this mini-series, we continue our evening with our Osaka friends to a private gathering of Civics at a local parking area off the highway. The meet features Civics from throughout Osaka who are friends and supporters of Car Make Across. The guys have some fun on the highway but nothing crazy. We tried to get as much footage as we could of the cars cruising the highway but don't expect any sort of racing as there was really none of that. After the meet, you follow us for a bit on the road as we head to dinner with friends. Since there were individuals present that needed to have their identities protected, we cut filming during the dinner.

Man Joe I have mad respect for the Kanjozokus and for you for respecting them enough that they would grace you to film this. We all know its illegal and dangerous but there's so much more to this than just "wreckless street racing". Thanks for sharing these vids bro! I'm very jealous of you guys. You have inspired me to follow in your footsteps and travel to car meets all over the world. At least Japan. I heard the car scene is huge there. I didn't get to experience it while I was there for a few months in 2009. But eventually I'd like to move there and experience the car scene every day.

Could anyone explain why the cops dont really mind about the racing going on there? I mean in Germany they would chase you until you run out of gas and even with a helicopter.
@THECHRONICLES
@THECHRONICLES 9 жыл бұрын
It's not that they don't really mind. They actually do. It's just not big enough of a problem for them to really focus all their attention on when there are other more important issues to deal with. They cracked down on it heavily about a decade ago and all activity pretty much stopped for years.
@MediaLiveHD
@MediaLiveHD 9 жыл бұрын
stickydiljoedotcom Thank you for the answer. But are they not allowed to hit other cars with their police car? In Germany or the usa they would hit your trunk, pull you out of the car and put you into jail :D If there would be such racing going on here, the people would say, the police have to stop this and they would come with road blocks everywhere. That's why I am wondering, the kanjo racers even chase the cops and then the police just drives into another direction. That seems so unreal to me to be honest. I was driving 140 Kmh last night in an 80 zone and they chased me. I outrun them with ease but it was very dangerous. The law seems to be much harder over here tho.
@THECHRONICLES
@THECHRONICLES 9 жыл бұрын
Laws are just "different". Cultural differences make for different rules and maybe this isn't quite big enough of a problem for them to really make a big deal out of it yet. It is very much an underground thing and most of the times, many of these guys are tied in with the Yakuza and they are very, very, powerful in Japan. Better to just look the other way and push it aside than to get everyone involved and turn it into something far worse.

Yes, but Hondas are so revered over there that no one will ever mess with them or try to race them. We actually came across a S13 Silvia on the highway and it drove off as fast as possible and wanted no part of what was going on.
