It’s never boring watching someone draw and paint.This is really beautiful.I like the way you used up the blank space with extra drawings once you finished the first painting .🥰

Thank you so much for showing long real time parts of your art process! It's made me realize that I rush through my sketches, and that's probably a big part of why I don't get the level of detail I want.

I think real time videos are interesting and good encouragement for beginners who might otherwise think all artists are somehow speed-painters! I feel you on the angle thing - I've done that so many times and only realised the proportions are off when I've moved or tilted the sketchbook/paper. 😂

Great video and i also did like the last part the best. Yeah sometimes you start drawing and only after some time youre really into it without it noticing and the sun from before is all of a sudden down🤔 and even more so, if you use a expensive block of paper or sketchbook or if its a new one, starting to draw on something like this somehow is a little hard. Hard to explain... if its copy paper you can sketch really great stuff without a care for the paper... maybe because of something like this?😅

It’s so relaxing to watch you sketching and painting in real time. ☺️ The night lighting is calming as well. When you talk about how part of the process is just staring at the paper or practicing brushstrokes it’s so relatable. Drawing flat really does throw off proportions, I notice this too every time I don’t use an easel. I hope you are enjoying making videos as much as we enjoy watching 💛

You are so patient with the watercolors, it's been a while since i used mine, but you make me want to get them out again. Which of course is not happening rn, because I'm not at home, haha. I didn't mind the lighting at all btw, it's a vibe. And you can always learn to color correct to be more daylight when it comes to colors, but I don't think that's really necessary tbh. Not in a sketchy video like this.

I think the lighting in this one is still fine - your sketches are as visible as light sketches are (the angle changes help a lot for that, too) and the colours look quite nice! I especially liked seeing the approaches to colouring hair you use here - it is something I struggle with and I like how yours end up looking a lot! So maybe I'll try out some of that, if I can find the patience. (To me you are less of a "slow artist", and more of a patient, deliberate and careful artist, I think.)

That's only because I don't have anything specific in mind that I'm trying to sketch, I turn my brain off and go with the flow. If I have an idea for a proper illustration then my sketches look super messy because I'm trying to figure out what I want , but those usually happen in procreate :)

Your drawings are wonderful, and the different placement of the features doesn’t bother me, although, I might notice it. Even though it bothers you, to me, your overall drawing is always pleasing to the eye…. I just think of it as your artistic license or style. I tend to draw/sculpt elongated necks and bodies, myself.😬👍 The lighting and placement of the camera was better from where you mentioned it. I like your editing. Your fluffy, tiny, cute dog is named Kujo?! Awesome!😄

I'm a self-taught artist, I have a question. What's the difference between how to draw a head and how to draw a face? Isn't it when we want to draw the head, we also draw the face too
@Kloodwig
@Kloodwig Жыл бұрын
Hey :) I assume this question relates to me talking about my issue with starting at the top of the head? I probably worded that badly or maybe just not clear enough. Yes, you are right when we are drawing the head, we are also drawing the face. The issue I have is that I start drawing the top of the head, already put in details into the hair, once the hair is good enough , I move down to the face and my proportions of the face are always off in relations to the already finished hair, so the face is too small or too big, then I have to decide if I adjust the face or the hair. More often then not I will adjust the hair and that's unnecessary work, because I could have either started drawing the face and then moved "out", so do the ears, the hair, the chin and neck OR sketch the entire head roughly and adjust everything at the same time.

How do you scan your artwork on sketchbook?
@Kloodwig
@Kloodwig Жыл бұрын
It depends on which sketchbook I am using. This wasn't really a sketchbook so I could scan it easy. I had to scan it two times tho. I put on one half of the paper, then scan the other half and make sure that both scans overlap each other in the middle. Then I can take both "half page" scans and put them on top of each other in photoshop. Scans are darker at the edge of the scan so I will then erase those overlapping parts in a way that makes it less noticeable, so never in a straight line. And once the two scans look more or less like one I will then merge them to one layer and start to edit the colors, usually you can't tell that these were two separate scans by then :)
