I think Jack was completely unaware of what he was getting himself into with the club. He had a throw away line like “I think you overestimate how much influence they really had.” When someone confronted him about being in the club. He probably just showed up and played along at the ritual meetings, but everyone kept him in the dark on how deep he really was getting in anything. At most just told this will help your career.

I think she called the demon "Mr Wriggles" - same difference i guess but i find something about wriggles more insidious sounding than wiggles 🤯
