Manchin is really representing his constituents though. His state overwhelmingly supported Trump. Sinema, on the other hand, is completely ignoring her constituent and it shows in the polling. It's like she's walking around Congress sporting Nascar like sponsorship of who funds her. She's not even trying to hide her corruption at this point.

I love when Seth brings up Bernie. It’s funny how little they wanted to back his ideas while he was running for president but now most democrats in Congress treat all of his positions as the “no duh” position instead of “how we gonna pay for it”. It seems like when it's just a small group and the person in question, they don't wait for reaction as much and it's much more organic. Personally, I find the audience even more jarring now than I did before. But then, I don't like noise.

They still support these people as they cheered on a tax cut that was permanent for corporations, but temporary for themselves. I generally love Seth but every time they show a clip of bernie speaking truth to power, otherwise great comedians employed by mega-corporations (like Seth and Colbert) try to minimize it by trotting out the same stereotypical "old Brooklyn Jewish man" voice complaining about things being pennies too expensive to make it sound like he's just a crotchedy old man complaining about insignificant things rather than a dedicated public servant speaking out against grave injustice and inequality.

I am TERRIBLE at impressions and I have no idea why I did it, but I guess it was just the perfect answer to a situation, but I did Seth's version of Bernie "I have ONE JACKET. you only need ONE JACKET" and it got rave reviews. I made a stranger laugh and he knew exactly who I was talking about, and he loved me, and it was a great moment. lol. Then he took the time to come out of his food truck in Naples, Florida, and walk me to his car where he had crocheted his very own Bernie Doll. True story!

Seth is SO much better without an audience!! his jokes are better and delivered faster. He doesn't pause for the jokes to land and the audience to chuckle which makes the show so much smoother.

I agree 100%. Stephen Colbert's show for my taste has become unbearable because of the hooten hollering and laugh tracks applaud tracks. I like Colbert can't deal with this audience. Seth Meyers is always been my go-to.

Bernie is right. I raised my kids by myself, and often joked that the babysitter made more than I did. But it was true. By the time I paid for gas to work and daycare, I had 10 bucks a month for food. This is no way to live. I worked an 80 hour week. I barely saw my kids, and as a result slept 2 hours a night so they wouldn't end up without a parent at all. The childcare situation needs to be solved!

Right, 100%. And what do you do if your child has nonverbal autism? Leaving her with someone means not knowing what is happening because she can't communicate at all. So I stay home with her because I have to feed her, bathe her, dress her, change her diapers, I'm taking care of a newborn 90 pound 7 year old who is almost as tall as I am. My body feels it every day, my heart feels it every day, my mind feels it every day and we are alone. The government throws her $800 a month for us both to live on and $800 a month doesn't go far when half of that is bills and we don't get food assistance so the other half of that is mostly food. There are days when I don't eat at all because I can't afford it or I will live off of PB&J when I can afford the $6 for a big jar of PB. And one of the things I feel the most is just how unfair all this is. You know, I was a high-school 4.0 GPA and a university 3.8 GPA. My college was completely paid for in full with my own brain power and I actually had a decently bright future ahead of me. But then autism....it changed it all. And now for the rest of my life I know I'll be taking care of my daughter and then still feeling guilty on my deathbed for not being able to keep taking care of her and she will have nothing when I die because I am giving every single thing I have now just to live day to day. And that's just 2 stories from women who struggle, how many more are there 😭

Republicans are far right, for the most part, with a couple exceptions, like Democrats - Bernie is definitely leftist. Maybe check the dictionary, next time, before attempting to correct someone.

@@deborahfreedman333 outside of the US, liberalism is a center-right ideology and the neo-liberalism that Manchin, moderate republicans (those few that are left) and now Sinema practice is to the right of that, making them firmly right wing. The current GOP base is FAR right by worldwide standards.

@@MrDukeSilverr part of what works is the rapport he has with the crew. Hopefully they can keep the same humor, but it’s definitely drastically different than it was with an audience. They’re going to have to cut all the in-jokes. I’m sure it will be great, I’ll just miss what they were able to get away with during all this.

Their point, I believe, is about not trusting any party (or other organization) to act in the best interests of the country without actively ensuring accountability.

Seth and crew created something really great. Going to miss it. I think the show will be of lesser quality. But entertainers go into it because they like to perform for an audience. So for the entertainer, it's it's got to be a loss when no audience.

I'm a "call them on their bluff" type of guy. I'd refuse to cave and say "fine, go ahead and crater the economy. We'll be right here rightfully blaming you the entire time." They'll back right down, because we all know it's only the money that they care about, so they don't actually want to go through with their threat. Their donors won't like it if they crash the economy and they know it.

However; these politicians and corporate business leaders can afford to eat the loss. Yet again it will be the middle class and low income suffering. You think inflation due to supply and demand was bad at the beginning of the year, just waiting until the government shuts down and the economy crashes, companies will raise costs to offset losses like clockwork further hurting the middle class!

Their greed is the one thing we can count on. That's why I don't think it will come to that and they will back down.

There's two problems with that though, firstly, it's the normal people who would bear the burden because the rich would be bailed out, and secondly, "we" can't blame them because as always, gop and their base would just go "but this happened when dems were in charge". Just like for the last 4 years you didn't hear a single peep from Mitch about the deficit, despite making their dumbass wall, and as soon as Biden got in, the rotting corpse of the economy was dragged out for them to parade around again. Nobody on the right was bringing that up, other than the uptick in the economy at the start which was the result from Obama policies... Letting them crash it and then blaming them for it does not work.

@@ainumahtar Your first point was already mentioned by the other guy. As for the second, I couldn't care less what their base thinks, as they're completely detached from reality. And, with the Dems in our they should not bail out the rich, it'll hurt, but it's time to just test off that band-aid or else they will keep doing this other and over and continue to Freeport the middle class as they have been for decades. The donors are not the same as the base, they know what's really going on and will know that it was the GOP that crashed the economy. Those things aside, as a matter of principle I will call anyone who threatens me on their bluff, and if it's not a bluff, let's go, you want a fight come get some. The Democrats need to stop caving whenever the GOP holds the masses hostage, as they do, or else things will never change...

Seth, your team has experimented quite delightfully and successfully over the past year+ with the late night format A lot of us do not look forward to the audience returning as it signifies a return to more traditional, and quite frankly, more stale late night formats I hope your team surprises us with something unique. Maybe cue the audience to boo/antagonize you, or groan at your silly obscure puns, or idk your team is much more creative than me, just do something interesting please

I love SOOOO much that he mentioned the 21 Club (it's a historic restaurant in NYC). That place is awesome, but not exactly name famous across the country, even though all the social elites from American history have been there.... I worked as part of a laser scanning crew that had to scan the entire building, and it was some of the most fun I've ever had to tour the secret speakeasy, and see all the ins and out of such a historical place. The speakeasy became a wine cellar for the rich & famous. I saw wine bottles for Kennedy's, Rockefellers, ect... Even the booth the mayor of New York would have to sneak booze in during prohibition. The place should be a museum! Then I did floor and ceiling plans for that very building. My goofy ass in my mid-20's had CAD work applied to one of the most prestigious eateries in the world! Memory I'll keep forever.
