Collecting Hells Angels memorabilia isn't for the meek

Collector Bo Bushnell has been gathering biker gang memorabilia for years, including numerous Hells Angels jackets, documents, patches and photographs. As he’s learned, it’s not an easy, or safe, thing to do. But even death threats haven't stopped him from doing what he sees as important work.

@Your Name The true modern day Hell's Angels (soliders) have a shelf life just like milk...they may last a couple of months but in the end everything turns sour and the lucky ones just fade away...the corporate Hell's Angels just keep selling their bullshit made in China and racking up that paper...Drugs, sex slaves and lawlessness is just a cowards way of life, no morals, no values and hardly anything to aspire to. The originals were WW2 vets that got used to the adrenaline rush of facing death on a daily basis...men of war that were no longer fit for "polite society" and had no where to vent their PTSD...but those guys did not try to cripple the country they fought for by pimping out their buddies daughters or selling dope to kids.

City I lived in years ago, had a Chapter across from where we lived. Everyone in the area knew it. Barricaded and fortified like Fort Knox with security cameras. Never once did we have cars vandalized, houses broken into or any trouble at all. Those guys kept to themselves and were always polite to all older people in the neighborhood when leaving their Clubhouse. They had a bad rep' nationally, but the folks who lived on the same street never had a bad word against them.

I hitchhiked and hopped trains across the country when I was 20, back in ‘08, and I came across the Hells Angels on a desolate stretch of highway in California one day. They all parked on a turnaround along the shoulder to take a break, or whatever, and I was standing right there. I had no idea they were still around and was kind of scared of them tbh, but they were all friendly and said hi and asked how long i’d been on the road.

A few years ago , I found someone selling a box of Biker memorabilia , at work. I asked them where it came from and why they were selling it. They belonged to a member of the San Jac Chapter of the High Rollers MC. When I was a Kid I knew someone that had been a member of that Chapter, so I picked up the entire Box, and out of respect returned them, to the Chapter. That's Club property. The Hell's Angels took me in when I was 16 years old and let me bring my friends from school over to get high. I lived with them for about 3 years before it fell apart. This was up near Pittsburgh, Pa. I did a lot of bad things for them, blew stuff up, burnt down medical offices and other places but they didn't pay me much cause I was a girl and when I complained, he beat me up. It didn't end too well when it was all over. Geronimo, the head, had a diamond in his eye. He was blind in it before I ever met him. I hate them so I sought revenge without the law, and won. Not bad for a young naive white girl whose back was against the wall. When your backs against the wall, only then, will you know what you gotta do. Some don't even own bikes, much less ride avidly. Where I live, you'll often see them piled in a 4 door sedan wearing their vests on their way to "handle bidness" (whatever that entails). And the driver, most often, is a non-member since most of them don't own cars or have a valid driver's license

Same here! I remember all the lovely things one could buy in the 1970's from High Times magazine..paraphernaloa wise, but those Zippos are absolute gems.

Ever been to an HA Club House? They have PLENTY of memorabilia. Most are a Museum unto themselves and often FAR better items than this guy has.

Sounds like it could be rife with counterfeit artifacts. I used to find this kind of stuff all the time in trunks of cars in my auto salvage business.
