What’s more crazy is that apparently, she remixed 2 songs to make that one performance. She remixed 2 mandarin songs.. and on social media - chinese netizens were abuzz because they cried watching her perform this.

She actually admitted that this is one of the hardest songs she ever sang. She has to learn mandarin in a short span of time. But your right music knows no boundaries.... One of the best performances of kz on that show. Hope you can watch and meet kz when she visits london again for a concert. Its really worth every penny that you'll pay.

She dont know how to speak Mandarin. She learned the lyrics, to the point that they translated it in her language (Bisaya) and write the words how to pronounce it. And she managed to arrange it in a week. Thats our KZ. ❤️❤️

When you said that KZ understands her instrument so well, you are so right. According to KZ, she used to hit insane high notes (she was a belter), but then something happened to her vocal cords so she couldn’t belt anymore. After that, she re-learned her voice, then a time came where she finally found a style that she now can use with what she has. Very amazing singer 👏👏

KZ actually suffered vocal nodules when she was young.. She used to be able to hit really high notes....

This was to show her respect to the Chinese community as the host of this huge competition. She just heard these songs and thought they're beautiful songs without understanding the lyrics. She mixed 3 Mandarin songs and compressed them into one with the help of her Chinese partner in this show, then practiced it for less than a week.

Later on, I watched the same performance with English subtitles and, again, it ripped my heart apart! KZ is amazing at interpreting a song and transferring her emotions onto her audience! ❤️

This is the second song she sang in the show (next to rolling in the deep). She ranked 6th on this episode (out of 8). This is a risky episode as she needs to be in the top 4 based on the average of her 2 performances. If she fails, she’ll go home and end her singer 2018 journey. But she took the risk, because according to her she wanted to show her respect to the chinese people by singing a song in their language. In her rolling in the deep performance, she wowed every chinese audience. But in this performance, she touched their hearts. ☺️ Since then, everyone loved her there. ❤️

How much respect did KZ immediately earn and deserve when she walks into the backyard, the house, of that audience, city and country and drops that performance in the native language of the people listening to her sing. I have to believe that EVERYONE in attendance had to shocked and at the same time be SO appreciative of her efforts. There wasn't a dry eye in the house and yet so quiet. It was like everyone held their breath during that performance. It's hard to find words that accurately describe just how good this performance was. IMO

Yes, according to her interview prior to this performance that this is the most difficult performance since she was given few days to learn this Chinese song with perfect accent. That's why the Chinese crowd was so impressed. And no, she's non-Chinese speaking singer.

KZ's first language is Bisaya which is the language spoken in Davao, Mindanao part of the Philippines where she come from. Like every Filipino she learned English and Tagalog as secondary languages.

10:14 Well, she had a vocal cord polyps way back when she was still young. Which leads her to cannot reach high notes, but it doesn't stop her she found where she is comfortable with and it leads her to pursue music again and make it her own music. A very awesome artist I ever now.

I remember watching this live in ABS-CBN and we were shocked because we didn't know she would sing in Mandarin. The proudness is sky rocketing that day.

She said in an interview that she never relied on the teleprompter for the lyrics. She always memorizes the words specially for this song she said to be 100% connected.

Fact: KZ learned to sing this just by a week. This song was a fast song thus the title was THE HURT YOU NEVER KNOW. She heard it when she was in a car and she wanted to sing it in her next performance. So she arranged it into a more dramatic and emotional one. The original singer of this song was one of her competitor that time or one of the contestants. And unfortunately this song brought her to the bottom or the last during the ranking after performances despite of the challenge singing mandarin even if she's new to it

KZ is amazing. She manages to transform emotion into music through her voice and that's quite a feat. Another person who blows me away with her live singing is Sohyang (I'm not sure if you've heard of her or any of her songs). I'm still trying to figure out how she can do what she does live. It doesn't seem quite real to me.
