ABKD (similar to how you pronounce some Spanish letters) is a song about colorism which is still prevalent to modern day Philippines because of how our previous colonizers (Spanish and American occupation) has fed our mind that the darker complexion a person has the more inferior he becomes and that they think highly of themselves as superior races thus colorism is some other form of racism. MAHARANI literally means "Great Queen" while GAYUMA is Tagalog word for "Love Potion" is a song about a dangerous woman

You ladies are gorgeous!! No worries if you mispronounce some words, we get it. Magiliw is such a positive word that has different meaning, like LOVING, AFFECTIONATE, FRIENDLY, BELOVED…etc…

The first song ABKD (pronounced ah-ba-ka-da) is the alphabet ABCD but in Tagalog there's no C. The crabs symbolize crab mentality... People like to bring down people who are climbing up in life, like crabs pulling down the other crabs who are trying to climb out of a basket while trying to climb out themselves.

The fandom MAGILIW is a word that means kind, gentle or friendly, which best describes a Filipino. The crab in ABKD represents crab mentality, wherein people copy the behavior of crabs when caught and placed in a bucket will try to hold you back down so you don't come out and succeed. Your reaction at the end of MAHARANI was hilarious! Yes, my Mo is the 'sexy' one you say in GAYUMA. Mo co-wrote and produced that song! In WALANG HANGGAN, I think the knife on Jao's back is a literal depiction of 'backstabbing' (people sabotaging you behind your back), but I'm not sure if this is what they want to portray. And lastly, you're right. Alamat is one of a kind, none you will find anywhere in the world. It is a group that sings in different Philippine languages, representing the different regions of the Philippines, educating everyone about our rich culture and awareness of our dark history (colonial), social diseases of the present, all through pop culture (social media content, songs, m/v's, dance performances, fashion).

That b-word crossed out in the ABKD was the equivalent of the N-word in other countries. The Aetas were called names and made fun just because of their culture and skin color. I didn't know this before until I learned from Alamat
