I can answer that for you Latoya must’ve felt insane jealousy and heartache when Janet Jackson became the breakthrough female Jackson family superstar!!! It was sadly all over for Latoya Jackson music wise by 1986. She was 30 years old at the time & she never gained any traction in the music industry of with the public. she was considered a failed popstar even back then before the crazy Jack Gordon years.

As a big fan of both, I'd say Madonna has a better voice and is a far better dancer. Part of it, I think, is that La Toya lacks the self-confidence to fully exploit her vocal abilities; otherwise she would be at least as good as Janet, probably better even. The same goes for La Toya's dancing: she just needs to loosen up and stop doubting herself, and she'll be great. As for looks, La Toya is more naturally beautiful than Madonna, but they both have top-notch style and at the end of the day I'd put them on par. They're also both really good (and underrated) song writers- no clear winner there, though sometimes La Toya writes some cheesy lyrics that betray the otherwise quality music. One thing La Toya is certainly better at is acting, which is why it's a shame she hasn't done more of it.
