Today we tried the APL BBQ annnnnnd it went CRAZY.
The price was a little on the hefty side but hey some times you have to pay for qaulity.
Would I get the $225 Tomahawk every time? Absolutely not. But the ribs were more than worth it.

The price isn’t just because everything has gone up, but also because of the portion size, I too, wouldn’t pay that much for BBQ it doesn’t make a person cheap though. Some of us just stay in comfortable price range.

I bought 3 prime Dino ribs and 3 Japanese Akaushi ribeyes for less than $200. Smoked them myself and I would put it up against that.

My in laws are in Texas, brother in law cooks great brisket, but the look of this and the juiciness looks unsurpassable. I need to find this guy. Fine steaks should not be over seasoned but I would add a tad bit more seasoning to the tomahawk. Good Gracious.

This guy looks the most legit. Thank you LA Try Guy for the love and enthusiasm. This man prepares barbecue for the rich and famous but his cutting technique is best to none. I am a culinary enthusiast as well and I cook pretty well too, since the age of 10. The best looking barbecue I have ever seen. Plant based but he could make me cheat 😮

Much respect to the chef! I would never tell someone else how to run their business, but those prices just aren’t justifiable in this model. You don’t pay that much for meat and how it’s prepared. You pay that much for meat and how it’s prepared PLUS good service and ambience and experience.

Were the bones cooked? Because dogs can only eat raw bones safely. It’s actually really dangerous to give a cooked bone to a dog, because it can splinter and they can choke or get their insides ripped apart

That $225 tomahawk is a glorified Ribeye steak, but I cant get over the $80 beef rib. Thats a 1 lb rib (beef ribs go for $4 a pound). That could have been a $40 rib combo.

They're at a venue. There are venue fees so that gets passed on to the customer.

I was at Phillips yesterday with my greedy self 😆 🤣 😂 My little scraggly rib tips compared to this was so small compared to this and I spent like $16 JUST for the rip tip. I didn't get the any sides for that price just two slices of bread. Prices have REALLY changed with them. When I was 🤰🏾 with my son at one point that was a DAILY crave. I ate Phillips for about a month STRAIGHT DAILY. At these prices/portions that's a long gone memory

@@billbixby3353 Haaaaayyyy! My first experience with Phil’s was at their Sports Arena location, I use to sneak in the door that was for the bar cause the line was too long. Back then they had a cool bartender who had a motorcycle accident and stopped working. I started going to their San Marcos location until Covid shut that down. I go to Phil’s in the SD airport if I’m in that terminal. And now I’m lucky to live close to the RB location that I tell the Reps to order lunch from to bring it to our Cancer Radiation center that’s really close by. They have no idea who I am lol. Their Signature Sangria is the best! And I’m from Illinois just like Phil is. I grew up with my daddy grilling the best bbq in a barrel cut in half with racks. Phil’s is hands down the best bbq in SD. And Calhoun’s Texas bbq is the best in Inland Empire. Shout out to Lonnie and his family at Calhoun’s bbq who lost their son who was a law enforcement officer that got killed answering a Domestic Violence call. That officer was once a kid who use to smile at me while packing my to go brisket meals 😢

I also had the tomahawk steak in Vegas at the Golden Steer, it and the sides were just over a hundred bucks and it was probably the best steak I’ve ever had.
