If you have ever had questions about what goes on inside temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, click here to learn more: bit.ly/3tNpqWB
Temples are the House of the Lord. They’re holy places where Latter-day Saints make sacred promises to God. Examples include promises to keep His commandments, and the promises husbands and wives make to each other and to God during a temple wedding, known as a sealing. There are more than 160 temples in operation around the world, from Sacramento, California, to Washington, D.C., to Manila, Philippines.

TRANSCRIPT:
If you’ve ever seen a temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, you probably noticed it does not look like other buildings. That’s on purpose. So, what makes it different? Well, let’s go back to biblical times.
From the very beginning, God’s people have built temples. Moses had his tabernacle, a sort of traveling temple. Then Solomon built a temple-one of his greatest achievements. During His life, Jesus Christ spent a lot of time in the temple at Jerusalem, helping, healing and teaching. And basically, that’s still what happens in temples today. Here, let me show you.
A temple is different from other church buildings. Inside the different rooms, people make promises with God. Promises to keep His commandments. Promises to be good husbands and wives. Promises to share what we have to help take care of each other. Because Latter-day Saints believe families are eternal, temple marriages are performed to last forever, so families can always be together, and that includes our ancestors too!
So, who can go inside a temple? Well, first, everyone. When a new temple is built there’s an open house for the public. Afterwards, it is only open to members of the Church who have prepared themselves to make sacred promises with God.
The truth is, temples aren't special because they look pretty from the outside. Instead, it’s about what happens in the hearts of the people inside. Because that’s where God does his most important work.

I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Jesus Christ's true restored church on the earth today, and that holy temples were very important throughout the Bible, including after Jesus Christ was resurrected. "And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen." -Luke 24:53 "And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." -Acts 2:46-47 "Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. 2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; 3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. 4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. 5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. 7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God." -Acts 3:1-8 Temples are still very important, and are how we can all be sealed to God, and to each other forever!

Regarding 0:26, with all due respect, whatever one may believe about today's temples, Jesus never actually entered the temple building. When the Bible says that he was in the temple, that's synecdoche (figure of speech, part for the whole or vice versa) for the *temple complex.* Jesus was of the tribe of Judah, and only those of the tribe of Levi could enter and serve in the temple building proper, or naos. When he taught, it appears he was either in the court of women where the treasury was (see, for example, Mark 12:41), or in one of the porticos on the perimeter of the complex like the portico of Solomon (John 10:23, see also the apostles in Acts 3:11 and 5:12) where even Gentiles could gather.

Unfortunately, I am one of those who are faithful members of the Church who have consistently been denied the ability to take out my endowments. The only time I have ever been to the temple was as a youth and that was to do the baptisms for the dead. Since I have become an adult, I have had multiple bishops deny a temple recommend to take out my endowments because I did not have the right job or did not have a career or have attended college. Last time I went to seek out a temple recommend to take out my endowments, I was told that because I did not serve a mission, God is punishing me and I would have to wait for someone in my family to do my endowments by proxy. That was twenty years ago.

You don’t need a church or sinful man to connect you to God. Jesus Christ is the only Mediator between Abba and man. Mormonism is a false gospel. Read the Bible, a Hebrew-Greek-English one. Ask the Holy Spirit to come into your heart. He is who leads us into all truth.

If you want to go to a real LDS church it's free too. If you wanted to go to any of the temples throughout the ancient world there was always a payment to be made. The sacrifice you brought wasn't free. Did not the people in the Bible pay tithing? Didn't two people in the New Testament fall down dead because they lied to God and held back a portion of the profit from the land they sold? Christ doesn't just require 10%, He requires ALL we have because He gave all He had. If you can't give 10% how can you give your all?

@@ilmari7568 Clearly there’s confusion here, My boss is a Non-Denominational Christian, adheres to the Bible strictly and pays his tithing. His tithing goes to helping support and finance their local congregation as well as pay the pastors. I look forward to going to one of his church services, and he has explained in detail how they proceed. A Christian service is very similar to one of the Latter-day Saints services. A congregation of believers are together to learn. Those Sunday church services are 100% free, just as I know the Christian services are. If you’d like to explain how a Christian church differs from a Latter-day, I’d love to know why those differences invalidates Rachel’s comment! :) Either way, God bless you! 😇
