It’s like what you dreamed of being grown up as a young girl, of another woman you admire and can’t help but put on a pedestal vs the harsh reality of being a grown woman and now being the one held up to unrealistic standards

I heard this on Tiktok or Instagram (can't remember which one) from the lines "You took me for a fool. You stole my youth....Then killed my light." and immediately tears fell. I've been trapped in an abusive marriage for over 15years with my middle school sweetheart, my first love and who I thought was my soulmate, and though mentally I'm ready to go now, financially I can't afford to. So I can relate to those lines in the song deeply.😭

Though I can proudly say with every gig I'm closer to my goal of getting a car, and one I get that car I can find a more stable income, and once I get that I can use that income to prove I can afford rent and finally move into my own apartment! This is so meaningful to me, because this is litrallz my situation all the time. Men see me as this beautiful thing that only nods to everything, but when they experience that I feel deeply, laugh and cry so hard, when they experience that I need comfort, that I hate being only seen like a body, then I'm too much. this perfectly captures my first relationship and it makes me sad thinking back but it‘s also so beautiful to see this experience validated. I tried to feed into this impression he had of me even though I knew I couldn‘t live up to it in the long term. Even though I felt that I was losing myself along the way. i absolutely adore how intentional everything in this music video was. how the cinematography felt very human while they were alone, yet when it was just laufey (especially in the scene at the end with the golden dress), the camera was still and panned out at a very still pace.

I interpret this song in such a different way with the same meaning. Instead of fame and glory being adored, in my previous relationship love and happiness was adored. Our relationship was "perfect" but since we got into small fights he kept mentioning that he doesnt feel the love like before. During those fights we were reduced to skin and bone, I loved him when he no longer shined like a star instead he was just a meteor. His dents and craters became more visible than ever and so were mine. I loved him despite not being a star but he no longer loved me after finding out I wasn't one either. Was displaying my brightest hues deceiving? Is that why you left? You could no longer love me after knowing I'm human was that it? Yet you took me for a fool letting me love you to the fullest while you watch me and thought to yourself I'm not happy anymore I'm not a perfect partner or person I'm not a fn goddess can't you understand?

Song of the year, I haven't heard or seen anything better than this. This may as well be song of the ever. Idk man. This song is the most beautifully crafted thing in human history. Deserves at least 200 Grammys just for the first second of the video. I think my sickness was cured after the 12th second so obviously deserves at least 1000 Nobel Prize awards just for that. Beautiful.
