Launch Pad: 2022 Mazda BT-50

Mazda Philippines has launched the Mazda BT-50. Three variants of the all-new BT-50 will be available. The range will start at P1.39 million for the base manual variant and top out at P1.79 million for the top-spec automatic variant with the 4x4 drivetrain. We'll talk specs later-you can first check out the price list below:

What, a 5-spoke wheel a selling point? Will it drive better against a 4-spoke wheel as it is heavier? Or will it really run faster against a 6-spoke wheel as it is lighter? I see no difference between them all. With it's rear suspension of leaf spring no matter how modernly updated, must give thanks to the calesas in Intramuros. Coil spring is the "NEW" version, like 1990's when it is used intensively by Nissan. I don't hate Mazda, I own a Mazda 2, great car, fun to drive. This pick up, BT 50, is still an Isuzu, inside and maybe a little outside. It looks like a CX 5, which is beautiful. That should be the main focus, the aesthetics, of which admittedly, looks great

People tend to overvalue the difflock. The difflock applies only in an extremely bumpy/rocky/muddy terrain or when you go extreme offroading. 95 percent of the time, we only use these pickups in the urban jungle which obviously wont need a difflock.

@@nuk3fishydude902 in my case, i wont have need of a difflock because i wont even go extreme offroading. So im fine with my 2021 dmax without a difflock. But if the mazda has it, then great!

@@FiscalEJ you'll pay for top of the line you expect everything from a full packaged pick up. that includes difflock. so if i had to give it some offroad grunt. I'm ready

@@Kyxmyx amen to what u said. I agree. My only point though is that there are some who overvalue the difflock. But having a Dmax even without a difflock is still okay for me because i will never go exteme off-roading anyway.

No idea yet, but if it's like the Isuzu, about 19 kml at 80 kmh, before the break in. Possible 20 after, but won't find out till the test units are at least 10,000 kms old.

Should be between 800-900kg for the 4x4 and between 1 ton to 1.2 tons for the 4x2, from foreign market specs. About what the rest of the class offers.

Edgy window lines doesn't suit the front fascia looks feminine too just get the dmax anyways.

I regret getting Mazda BT50. Got my BT50 last 2022, now it just passed 1 year old and the starter motor failed. Had to call Mazda to tow the vehicle from our house to casa. then after 4 days, got the news, Starter Motor Failed, then had to wait for warranty claim approval and worse, have to wait for the parts. We're from CEBU, If it's available in Manila we have to wait 3-4 weeks. But if not, we have to wait 3-4 months since they need to order it from JAPAN. THAT's JUST RIDICULOUS! We are still waiting to get our vehicle back from CASA. Why not keep a stock in the first place? I'm never getting another MAZDA in the future. Period!
