World record as of 12/18/2022.
Utilized the Any Ending strats for this category and it paid off quite nicely. Admittedly I'm not super comfortable with the route and I took my time with Act 6 considering I botched my previous attempt getting a question wrong. All in all, a nice run! Acts 1 and 2 were awesome, best time I've ever gotten in Act 1. Definite room for improvement though.

Interesting - from the walkthroughs I read, O'Reilly's motive for killing the countess, ziggy etc was to "cover another crime", not "financial gain", yet I see we both got the "good" ending for choosing different answers. Perhaps you can use either motive.

From what I can tell, they're synonymous since the "other crime" was the theft of the dagger, which was for financial gain. SPOILERS O'Reily was the ringleader for both the painting forgeries and the theft. He had two criminals on a leash with blackmail (the countess, who murdered her ex husband, and Little, who escaped prison and impersonated and murdered Dr Carrington) and one cooperative petty criminal (Ziggy) who helped for financial compensation. He had the Countess pick up Little in a taxi when he made land and explain to him that he was now part their crime ring, so they're all working for O'Reily. He was to keep pretending to be Carrington and steal the dagger, which he did, but had to hastily hide it in the gift shop display with the fake ones. The plan was, just like with the paintings, to replace it with a replica, but something went wrong during the heist and they couldn't complete part 2 of the plan. On the night of the party O'Reily himself decides to finish it and put the fake dagger in the display, so he can claim to wrap up the case. Unfortunately, Dr Carter had a rendez-vous with Yvette and walked in on him. O'Reily stabbed him with the replica, which was in his hand, and stuffed him in a coffin. Yvette came by afterwards, left her shoeprint but couldn't find Carter. Tut Smith also came by to meet him, dropped his necklace but couldn't find him. Finally, Laura discovers him. The gift shop is about to be locked down, so O'Reily takes the real dagger and hides it in the VAT so he could retrieve it later. Ziggy knows it was O'Reily that did it, gets greedy and demands more money, so he gets killed (either to cover up the dagger theft, or so O'Reily doesn't have to pay him, so financial gain). Little thinks he could blackmail the blackmailer and get out from under his thumb, so also gets murdered. Ernie is told by Olympia there's a problem in the vat so goes to check it out, O'Reily thinks he will find the dagger and pushes him in, drowning him. Later moves him because obviously he doesn't want people poking around the hiding spot (unaware Laura has already found the dagger). Yvette he kills for cheating, after she goes around blabbing that she loved Ernie. The Countess puts two and two together after Laura tells her Carrington is dead, and so also get killed. All the murders outside of Yvette are to cover up the dagger theft, or to keep more of the crime money.

This is pure insanity. I don't understand the enjoyment of 'breaking' games. I guess there must be some money incentive because I couldn't fathom playing any game to do this.

@@tyspy64 No, I don’t do this for money, I do it because it’s fun for me. It’s ok if you don’t understand why people enjoy speedrunning. I probably don’t understand some of the things you enjoy either, and that’s ok too. Whatever hobbies you do that you enjoy, I hope you continue to enjoy doing them and that no one makes you feel invalidated over the things that personally bring you happiness.

@@retrotks Oh ya, it wasn't a slight. I'll never understand it, just like you'll never understand things I like. Sorry man, didn't mean to come off the way it did bro.

@@retrotks for sure man! The world's gotten to be a pretty rough place, it's pointless to start inconsequential arguments over trivial things like what different people like. Thanks brotha, and same to you! And actually I do get why you find this fun..because it's a challenge, so keep on killing these games bud!
