I think her personality annoys them and that stops them from appreciating that she's a fascinating character. I think that what specifically what annoys them is that she tries to pass herself of as some sort of philosopher on life when really it's all basically her own selfishness and her refusal to take responsibility for her choices, her actions and her mistakes and instead tries to excuse them in some way that doesn't stand up or just verbally attacks other people when they call her out on it. Though I guess it could be a case of her irritating people who likewise don't take responsibilities for their own actions and makes them aggressive because she reminds them of themselves. Just a theory as to why some people might hate her. I guess the other theory is that she has depression and not many people can recognise that. Still the fact that she gets that sort of reaction out of the audience and since her storyline is linked with the storyline of so many other characters makes her fascinating. I wonder if season 4 was going to happen if she'd ever realise that Baldur and Odin aren't the same - when she was told the music was 'requiem for Baldur' and she said she'd met him because she got Baldur mixed up with Odin. Of course when we reflect on it we realise the whole thing is basically her willingness to take the blame for her dads affair and sets herself up in her mind as a bad person so she keeps hurting people but because she knows deep down it wasn't her fault she either tries to excuse her behaviour or get aggressive when people call her out for actually hurting someone. She'd rather pursue that course of looking at the world rather than admitting the truth about everything because that means she'll have to reshape how she views herself and her life.

the thing is, the is kinda the worst person with the exeption of odin, but thats another story . . . that does not mean though she is not a good as in facinating character. She is very flawed, a total bitch, but also extreamly compelling if you can look past that. She cheated on one of the sweetest people on earth, died extreamly stupid, is hella abusiv, egoistiical, there are so many reasons to dislike her .. . but also weirdly relatable and thats probably the main reason, she makes us sympathise with her and face things we do not like in usself. She is so very human, selfish, fleeing of the conseuences of her choices, never satisfied and grasping for more
