I'm so glad this video showed up on my feed, I could listen to Laura talk all day, she's obviously lovely but I didn't realise how in-depth and varied her path has been to get ther to where she is. When you're not in the industry you don't realise the path a new presenter has taken, you presume it's a screen test and if they do well and don't look like Sloth from the Gonnies you get the job. It wasn't until I started researching Jo Wilson on Sky Sports (not in a creepy way), again I didn't realise how big her presence is within the Sky Studios as her credentials extend far beyond just presenting the show. I have to agree regarding criticism, not of us are above criticism but what's important is what criticism you listen to, most criticism especially when aimed at a woman is going to be the usual sexist stuff but those who actually have experience and have genuine criticism to make will shape in a way that is constructive, that's the criticism you listen to, the rest is just white noise and usually doesn't warrant the time you spend reading it.

Cool interview. I think that if you try and take the TS Breakfast show from Alan Brazil, even if you're the world's best sports broadcaster, that's a tough gig for anyone. Laura's nailed it completely and I think this interview tells you why. She's driven, listens, humble and has a thirst to learn and improve. Great interview and great to find out more about what makes someone tick 👍
