I am really enjoying your video's Laura, it is really good to see young people with a passion for farming, Sadly, I am retired from full time farming now and I miss being out in the fields, the long hours, the dust and dirt, eating meals in the field, even the smell from the diesel exhaust. My last year or so I spent time in a big John Deere with everything controlled from small switches and touch screens working the computer. I still loved shifting up and down the gears and even from forward to reverse etc and not using the clutch! The changes I have seen over my working life have been amazing, the first tractor I was 'trusted' with was an early 1960s Massey Ferguson 35, but you didn't have to have electronic degree's to fix them! Since many of your viewers are from cities you could maybe tell them a little about the costs involved in buying, operating and maintenance the tractors and equipment you are driving I think they will be surprised, even shocked. I don't think a lot of you viewers fully understand how tiring it is steering to within a few inches of the last pass for 12 to 14 hours a day, night time is even harder, with the John Deere's GPS Auto Trac doing the steering the operator can watch for other problems without getting so tired, the biggest problem now is boredom. I look forward to seeing more from you and Grant, you seem a good couple, good luck to both of you.

Hilarious, I always found knocking the dirt of my back window when I was running the tractor back in the 70's and 80's very satisfying as well. I'm glad to see the young farmers haven't changed. Very much enjoying seeing farming in a different area. We farmed in south west Alberta back then. Mostly wheat barley and oats. Keep up the good work.

Just found your channel recently. Absolutely love the content, it"s very good and wholesome (loved the interactions between you and your parents). Saw this Q+A video, it was really great but I still have a lot of questions. First off, the easy one, how has covid affected you? What is your favorite crop to plant? What do you all do in the winter? You have a dirt bike but have you ever drove a street bike and if so which do you prefer? Do you have a five year plan and if so, what is it? With all that time alone with yourself in the cab of a tractor how do you cope with it? I only ask this because given the current situation and your very positive attitude maybe your methods can help a lot of people who are not used to it. Once again, I love what your putting out here for us. Especially given what we all are going through...we all need it. Well one last question, why do you wrap/cross your shoulder straps? lol, when I see it it really bothers me but then I think to myself that there has to be a very good reason. But if the reason is just a personal preference then that is just a good as an answer as any.

Q: why are you, your dad and Grant using 3-point hitch planters on such flat land, instead of wider drawn units? Expense, I suppose? Easy maneuverability (sp) around irrigation units? Are most of your irrigation pumps engines or electric?

Q&A, perfect Laura. Nice to discover Nebraska! Impressive and heavy machine, where are all the screens in this one ;). Thanks for showing the big sprinkler installation, please can you tell and show more details of it the next time, for example from what depth the water is pumped? Will that be sustained and sufficient in future? How much water you get in a year via precipitation? Further, what has been the previous crop on this field? What has been done after that crop was harvested. Last Q, do you expect in future the seeding can all be done by the tractor itself, without humans do some checking on the machine. How about Corona in Nebraska and social distancing, hardly an issue! Many thanks for all answers, pretty cool!

That Chinese food looked really good. Grant seems like a fun dude. As a fellow expert of the KZfaqs, I recommend copy-pasting the questions you want to answer into a note on your phone (with the name of the person who asked, because people love when their favorite KZfaqr calls them out) so you have a single note to look at when you're recording. Makes the whole thing feel more stream lined and lets you think of answers ahead of time. Also a live stream would be neat, but they can be a lot of hassle, so I wouldn't be upset if you didn't do it.

Oh HI Laura & Grant , the question running thru my mind is how you acquired all of the shiny new equipment that I keep seeing in your videos. Being younger than your average farmer and just starting out begs the question . As well as all of the land costs. Just curious. Be well . Love the vids. Takes me back to my uncle's farm where I learned to operate an old H farmall and an M. He had a 2row picker mounted on tractor and a 3-4 row combine for beans or oats pulled by tractor.
