After watching this video my heart was grieved and I started to cry. Lauren is one of my favorite singers. Her gift to write and sing is beyond phenomenal. Not to mention, she’s beautiful, likable and appears to have a very sweet spirit. I was grieved because her shirt was a distraction and took away from the powerful platform she had to influence with her God-given gift. I was grieved because I thought about so many others God used and exalted in a similar manner, whose ministries became irrelevant and powerless to bring transformation. As a Christian woman, I want to remind other believers that we are ALL called to represent Christ and attract others to Him. We do this in different ways and in various capacities but the outcome should be the same…bringing glory to God. Not in a manner that is subjective or popular, but biblical. We can have great giftedness, but it must be balanced with wisdom. The body of Christ is a living, growing community. We must take in consideration that the members are developing and maturing at a different pace. This is exactly why LOVE is so important. I know Lauren’s music, but I don’t know Lauren. I know her Creator and the God who loves her. I know His intentions are good towards her and the defeat of her ministry is not a part of His plan. So, with that, I admonish us all to pray and speak words of encouragement that will bring edification. Pray for her continual growth in the Lord. We all need humility and a teachable spirit, especially those of us in positions of leadership. Remember James 3:1, Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more severely than others. This is why Lauren and others in ministry are critiqued and criticized so much. They are voices for people to listen to and learn from. They are examples for others to follow and when anything, small or great overshadows God’s glory, it will stand out. Lauren, you have to know you’re beautiful. You have to know you’re gifted. But I’m not sure you know you’re necessary and of great value to this day and time. Guard your gift and ministry with all diligence. The culture requires the transformation it’s purposed to bring.

I personally am not Christian (I’m Hindu) but I still think this song and her other songs are great. I didn’t even know she was a Christian singer until I googled it but that didn’t change my opinion. She has an amazing voice and even if you aren’t Christian or even religious you can still interpret the song in many ways. It’s great that we can evolve to show our faith and be appreciated for it. I just wish this was the case for more religions.

This song and You Say from this album have been helping me through a dark time. I drove around in my car listening to it, crying and praying for guidance. So I call her message a good one. As believers spreading the gospel, we need to have a good understanding of our audience. We have to be able to recognize what they will be receptive to and what might take a little longer to accept. This does not mean that we change the gospel to sooth our worries about fitting in but rather that we approach evangelism in a way that will capture our audience’s attention. I honestly think that what Lauren Daigle is doing is incredibly smart. She is singing Christian songs from her Christian album that don’t directly mention God not because she is afraid of being ridiculed or rejected, but because she is easing the audience into it by first showing the love and light of God in her life through her music. Jesus did not preach to the people in words they did not understand. Instead, he spoke to them in a way that was simple and pointed to him but didn’t confuse them. I believe Lauren is doing the same exact thing and following Jesus’ example. A song does not have to mention the Lord as long as the essence of who God is, is present. Oftentimes, our actions speak louder than words. No, we should never be ashamed of the gospel, but we also need to recognize that there are plenty of people who claim the gospel but act in a way that contradicts what the Bible clearly says. This is discouraging and even angering to non-believers because as Christians, we have trouble fully committing to what we believe in. So when we try to evangelize, we are rejected because we as the Church have treated the people badly and have been putting up a facade. Lauren is first showing her character and the Holy Spirit who shines within her. This will capture the attention of the people better than just shouting “Jesus” and hoping someone gives you the time of day to speak to them. She is establishing herself as a confident, faithful, kind, and authentic young woman. The Holy Spirit is evident in the way she acts, which will soften the hearts of the audience, sparking a desire to know where that brilliance comes from.

There's no question about it. This girl is incredibly gifted. There's something unique and special here.

I've never been more excited for a Christian singer than I am right now. I actually talked about one of her songs in a presentation I had to do in my music class.

I'm from the Caribbeans and her song has a tune, dress attire & all goes very according to the type of music she is interpreting. Calypso style. I luv her variety of music style. As for who gets the glory for her talent it all belongs to the Lord and Lauren surely demonstrates it in feeling & interpretation. Our Lord is a Lord of many talents and gifts which he sets on who He desires. He owns the skills, strategies & boldness that we have when we use them. All her songs have a message, its like she preaches when she sings & u can feel how the Holy Spirit lifts u up when u most need it. Look in to your heart and ask the Lord what are u doing with the talents he has given u. Are u hiding them or just using them to point at a fellow Christian. Have you ever stood up in a public place to tell everyone that Jesus is our Savior. Well Lauren is standing with boldness in a place that maybe its not a church and telling others that they to shall be able to look up and seek His face.

Love her! So talented!!! It's sad to me that Christian artists have to face a firing squad of "Christians" with judgements on everything from their clothes to their lyrics. I am a Christian. I'm also a huge fan of both Lauren and Jimmy! Both have amazing gifts and are doing more with the gifts that God gave them than I'm doing with the gifts that God gave me. So instead of criticising or condemning or judging, I'm going to focus on developing my gifts and send love and well wishes to Lauren and Jimmy who are using what God gave them to change the world!

They glorify the Lord by singing hope to people in general in a Biblical perspective and don't make it a worship song with Christian words but use language that non-Christians can relate to. It’s nice to see support in the comments. We should be lifting believers and non believers alike up in love and showing them love, kindness and forgiveness not judgement. The only expectations she needs to meet are those of Christ. If people thought her lyrics lacked a few words they can go write their own song or add in the Lords name themselves.
