Yeah... that's some crazy shit.

She's not nearly the hardest. The tree spirit in a broom closet is definitely harder. As were the 4 clones of Malenia at the same time in waist high poisonous mud, while doing an escort quest. She's just a Bloodborne boss. (go towards her instead of running away, 2/3 of her attacks miss.) That's why her reward for beating her is the Bloodborne Rally mechanic.

@@acrab6527 she absolutely is not "just a bloodborne boss," it took me several days of trying every strat imaginable on a character who was frankly overleveled, erring toward moving in her direction instead of away certainly helps but is nowhere near as simple as you're making it sound, that tree spirit fight is just as easy as every tree spirit fight, and while the valkyries were tough, they sure as hell didn't take me more than 15 actual hours i've beaten bloodborne at least six times and there is no boss in that game that i found even 2/3rds as hard as malenia, including some of the really absurd ones in the most busted chalices it's cool that you're the one person on earth who clicked with malenia quickly but there has to come a point when you recognize that your own experience is an extremely rare one and it's ridiculous to act like everybody else was just bad at the game

@@MalkuthSephira it's also funny how people like the other person don't even state how long it took them to learn how to fight Malenia too. they always say "just do this" without stating really how long it took them to defeat her.

And fun fact! Miyazaki has already confirmed that he put a boss objectively harder than Malenia in the upcoming DLC!

@@cah137-y4s i don't think he said anything like that, from what i remember they said that the boss will be "similar" in difficulty, just expect it to play differently.

I figured out that i could tank most of the first third of the dance with a 100 block shield, so that dodging through the final hit of that chunk gave me the distance i needed to run from the rest

you don't need to dodge the the last flurry, you just need to walk towards her and than back away while locked on

@@Much_Ado she catches up to you with the last flurry, also running and jumping helps a lot with the first flurry.

@@Ghorda9 I never figured out a system to fully dodge the first flurry, and even if she caught up to me with the last, that part was always simple enough to dodge through. It was just that first one that'd catch me, so tanking it and dealing with her healing was worth it for me

and like, i _did_ beat her without even remembering that summoning was a mechanic in the game, so like clearly it worked

16:49 you can dodge it pretty easily, the issue is being ready to dodge it when it happens which usually never happens.
