As a mobile editor that uses either alight motion or capcut, and when it comes to making velocity edits (also I'm on android) it's just impossible on Alight Motion because the speed alteration feature is not available yet, so I just ended up using CapCut in making velocity and it actually turns out good most of the time.

The After effect is obviously the best but i think the funimate edit turned out pretty good

i would LOVE to see her try this again but with editing apps that have the worst ratings on app store

As an AE editor, I just have the biggest respect for people that have the patience to make edits on these apps - it's truly so much easier on AE that nowadays I can't bring myself to try anything else because I just get frustrated. Huge respect for app editors. I used to edit on AM, but after trying out AE I just can't go back to apps because of how time consuming it is to make a velocity edit on an app as opposed to making it on AE.

As an Alight Motion editor, Twixtor-like effects don't exist on that app, so the way you make velocity edits is to either use another app to give that Twixtor-likke effect ( you'd have to cut and export your clips ), or to cut the clips in the app and give them different speeds. Like: Import Clip Cut Clip into XYZ amount ( let's say 5 clips ) 1st Clip goes at 100% ( normal speed ) You bring the 2nd Clip down to 50% ( lower speed ) And you keep going until you get the velocity you want. It does require more work, maybe, in comparison to AE and Videostar, but it's just how it is. I hope this helped, somewhat, have a good day/night ^^

For vs: i use “better Mixtor” for the most smooth result and it doesn’t show up until you let it render ig. For the multi layer there is a sound thing in the corner that lets you turn on the sound and yours was just off. And I think you did the rest great 🙃

on videostar the velocity that goes smooth is the “better mixtor”, when you’re editing it looks the same but when you render it looks way better

as an alight motion user, her working out the velocity was so funny to watch. a tip would be to mark ur beats, import the clip in slowmo, and cut the clip to each beat and change the speed !

For anyone wondering, video star and funimate actually do have smooth velocity. they only show as smooth when u save the vid. And in alight motion you have to split the vid and change the speed on each layer, but it isn’t smooth

As a videostar editor, I can say that velocity edit was really good, the velocity in general for videostar is really hard T_T ( in my opinion) (Also for not being able to hear the audio, the volume icon at the bottom right, when you click it you can toggle the audio on or off)

For alight motion you need to cut the clips and add slo motion or fast in order for it to work

I NEVER KNEW YOU COULD ZOOM IN THANK YOU SO MUCH ( in vsp velocity)

SO GOOOD! also as a vs user you did really well, it really is hard to get the velo smooth. to change the way it looks you can click on the little running man and click on ‘faster mixtor’ or if thats not looking good on ‘better mixtor’, hope this helps

as a video star editor, if you click the running icon in the velocity mapper, and click smooth mixtor, it makes the velocity smoother (almost like ae haha)

for videostar (if u ever use it again) i suggest creating seperate clips on every beat and then add velocity to each seperate clip, it makes it much much easier

i personally use videostar and i always have a hard time with the velocity, but i found it easier to split the clips outside of velocity then go back in and give each clip it’s own velocity. it comes out the smoothest for me

Tip for funimate. Use a photo to determine the beat then cut the video. Then make the graph

Lauren if you ever do velo on vs again, even tho it’s not like true velocity, you can put ur clip in, pre split the audio, go to motion and do faster speed for each of ur clips then add ur flash and merge it and do flicker and panning

So the way I do my velocity edits is used 3 apps. 1. Smooth action cam slowmo- Twixtor 2. Capcut- Velocity 3. Alight Motion- Finished edit

Everybody who had ever tried velocity on alight motion has failed badly. As an alight motion editor myself I have mad respect for you that you made such a good velocity. Like this is the best one yet in am history.

When making a velocity in video star, cut the clips at every beat, then in velocity start on a high speed then slow, and then high at the end. Do this on all clips :)

On VideoStar, the shadow/glitchy thing goes away once you see the end results:)

An easier way to do velocities on video star is pre-cutting the clips where the beat happens. You slow down the whole clip a little bit, go to edit and click multi split and then cut the clip where the beats hit, and then go to velocity and make the first clip fast, and then the second point you put it slow and keep it there for the remainder of the clip.

okay so as an ex videostar editor. i LOVE like i wouldn't have done that as a beginner. QUICK TIP: i would've been so much easier to make the velocity if you just split the clips on beat as well as for the glow; because the way us ae editors frame the speed for twixtor doesn't really work that good for vs edits, it just makes them look really choppy and not that pleasing to look at lol. over all lauren, u did amazing.

You can put the slow mo more smooth when you put blend frames

A tip for VSP: when your using the velocity, click the running man button at the left bottom of the velocity screen and choose better mixtor. This makes the velocity much smoother.

for videostar you can split the clips on the beat then do your velocity,by slowing it down the clip then making a key frame towards the end to speed it up

On video star the easiest way to do velocity is go to multi split, split at each beat. Then go to velocitu and go to the second line and put the dot thingy down then go a few frames before the end and put the dot thingy up to make it faster then repeat on each clip. Also better mixtor is the smoothest to do it it may look choppy when on velocity but when you click create it’s smooth.

you should make a video explaining everything about ae like whats a value graph whats a speed graph and how do u use them It would be really helpful :)

as a video star pro user, I still can’t do velocity either 😭 but if you ever try it again, you can see the little volume with a line across symbol when editing key frames in multi layer! If you press that you can hear the volume :)

ae & funimate are literally amazing! like! i could never lol!

on funimate i use a different and more accurate way! you can split a little before each beat and make it you’re desired SPED up speed and then do the same until the next beat but for your desired SLOW speed

As an AM user, to making velocities, what I do is I go on a certain app to have my video slowed down at like 0.5x and I bring that video to AM and just split every part in the video and then I have my velocity

for video star use better mixtor, if you save it and add motion blur usin transform it will look wayyy smoother. (i suggust using a qr code to get a good motion blur setting or edit it urself :)
