How to insert a standard centred zip - Laurens Top Tops - Part 10.2

This type of zip insertion is great for cushion covers or skirts and dresses and means two neat layers of fabric will edge up against each other to cover the zip. It could also be used on bags and purses too.
You'll need a regular zip foot for your machine, this usually comes with the machine and will be with the machine accessories.

Brilliant.In my time it was normal to use ordinary zips,not invisible and to tack everything.Im now going to try wonder tape,it seems so much easier.Can the same tape be used on all types of fabrics e.g. Chiffon to wool thanks

Question: in your videos, I always see your work laid on a squared/marked grid surface. I see you iron on this surface too. Is it a mat? Can you use rotary cutter on it too? I want to know what it is 😊 and possibly which brand you use?
