Lava Cheese Toast 🍞 (OOZING with warm, gooey, sweet cheese!)

Ooey gooey lava cheese toast - Hokkaido cheese tart style!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of whole milk (3.25%)
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/3 cup cream cheese (75g)
- 1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese (loosely packed)
- 1 tbsp corn starch (slurry: 2 tbsp pan sauce + 1 tbsp cornstarch)
- A pinch of salt
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 wedge of lemon juice
- 2 slices of thick white/egg bread

I’ve tried a cheese tart from uncle tetsu before but I didn’t know it was called a Hokkaido cheese tart! The taste you described is exactly what I had when I ate the tart. I can’t wait to make this, just need to find that perfect shokupan 🍞

Loved it will definitely try it... Few questions tho -Is it sweet (because you added sugar).... I don't like sweet cn it be made savoury instead ? -What is the shelf life of the sauce if I wanna make a big batch and store it ? -Does it make a difference if we don't use egg yolk ? (If it's a necessary ingredient can you please provide an alternative. )
