Lava is seen flowing following a volcanic eruption near Iceland’s capital. The eruption started on Monday in a valley near the Litli-Hrútur mountain, some 30 kilometres (19 miles) southwest of Reykjavik. The uninhabited area, on the Reykjanes Peninsula, has in recent days been rocked by more than 1,200 earthquakes.
