I met Lavell Crawford at the Casino Queen in East. St. Louis, IL. This man is truly a humble individual . So down to earth. A true Legend in Comedy!

And, the special needs joke was actually a compliment. Because, he was commending the paraplegic's work ethic and insulting how some people are perfectly healthy, but they don't want to work.

My sons and I were there that night in Columbia, SC and what Lavelle Maurice Crawford said is absolutely the truth. Now what he didn't say is how the handicap man's coworkers tried to heckle him. I turned to my sons and we were amazed at how he professionally handle ALL of them and sent them on their way with no refunds...LOL

At 5:35ish--Mr. Crawford, to my mind, your ability to laugh at yourself, to laugh at your jokes while telling them, and to laugh with your audience as they laugh at you is priceless. It's a skill, a tool in the comic's arsenal, akin to Richard Pryor's characters and skits, like Mudbone and "...his feets was blue!" and that chick that couldn't give away some psusy because someone had died in it. I'm in the 4th quarter of my game and want you to know that I appreciate your humor and the stitches you have given me. I hope that my last evening is filled with you and the other great 'fat men'--Ralphie May, John Pinette, and Louie Anderson. Peace out! PS--If you talk to Sinbad, ask him if he remembers a show in Birmingham, AL in the early 80's when/where a member of the audience projectile-vomited all over the foyer through which everyone had to pass to exit the premises. Yes, yours truly.
