We rarely see him? In One day, I only fought against Pauls and Laws, and I was in the purple ranks, near blue ranks. To me, he's one of the most over used characters in Tekken 7.

A few tips for people struggling with DSS as i did some time ago. -At the wall do 4,3 wait until you see the 4 connect and immediately input b,f,f into Power crush.Usually the input fails when we do it too fast and not because we were slow. -in the open After Screw run balls deep into your opponents nutsack before doing 4,3 to legend kick. I find that makes the ender MUCH easier and consistent. Hope this helps someone.

Some of the information in this video is a bit wrong so I’d like to let yall know how to counter Law. Like any other character in Tekken Law is flawed b/c a lot of Laws countering hitting moves or pressure tools are all highs like DSS 2, DSS F2, DSS 1, DSS F4, DSS Throws. Most of these options out of DSS are also all linear to SSR if you’re more experienced in the matchup. Law also has amazing punishment with 112 being his ten frame at plus 6, 34 as his twelve frame, 3+4 4 at fourteen, and safe df2 at fifteen. He also has amazing ws punishment but in my experience of playing Law for years I believe he suffers from predictability and turtles in longer game sets. If you aren’t getting leverage off of dss pressure or throws it’s hard to open people up who know the match up because counters are essential for the character. WS4 DSS is amazing but as I stated above can be beaten with a simple step or read on a high move.

I've always played Law. Simply because he's a tribute to Bruce Lee and growing up in the 80's and 90's, he was everyone's hero. I think they've done a fantastic job in recreating his image, and speed and fighting style.

I've been a law player since 2013... in my 5 years experience, even I can't get the dss right. However, you did forget a few things. Law's ss 3+4. They turned that into a launcher which was punishable against mishima's if you knew their side to side step on. Another thing I don't see a lot of laws do, and I found this in ttt2. Law can dss on successful parry. Now the only useful ones are dss to 1,4 and 2+4. However 1,4 works better cause in 2+4 on a 2 break, people will notice that it can be broken out of if they play smart or use their elbows and knees (Bryans). Mmmmmm. Law has sun and moon which is punishable but ff 4 is safe. completing ff 4,3 puts you to punish like the mishimas. Rage drive can be wall splattered on stand. You either have dss f1 or f 1+2 both are good if your opponent doesn't react well to dragon sweep. Another thing. When you are in green ranks and blue ranks, you see a lot of laws just dragon sweep. But when you get high ranks, like purple, you don't use it unless it's rage drive. Last thing. dss 3. it launches and does a lot of damage in simple moves like ff 3,4 (successful) or magic f 1+2. I know I could be considered one of the "nerds" of law, but it's fact. Plus just a few more things to state for law that MainManSwe forgot to mention. (Also, 3+4, 3, not good for wall distance, better for d 2, 3, much more reliable if you know you're close to a wall.)

Been playing law since TK1 as one of my mains, in TK7 he is one of the really normal characters, no good rage and almost with really low damage his pokes are not much. With Law you just have to wait and he is either looses to time or he is dead by punishments. Almost all og his useful tools are completely known to all the players, as there is not many new moves. That DSS that you said, only got one unblockable mid with push back. The rest are absolutely punishable so dss is just a fancy gimmick and nothing more specifically when we are talking about purpule ranks and above.

don’t forget that he has his own variation of a taunt jet upper with ws4 if you dss into 3+4,4. although i don’t remember if you need to have a counter hit or normal hit for it to work. still a nice addition to his kit if you have insane execution

Well, you only mention the greatness, but never talk about the weakness. 3+4,4 is good against some characters is right, but players above orange here in Asia will duck 4 and launch you for a full combo which we see top law players like lowhigh,malgu,double also got launched very often if he tried to whiff punish a move, but his opponent just bailed him to use it. I mean it has some risks. Also good players will not throw -14 moves like idiots. Also it only does 56 damage and doesn't travel far, so you need a small stage to be able to get a wall combo, but most stage are big in this game. This really reduces the advantage of this move. Also in tournament, after you lose, you can choose stage and people will choose infinite stage because this will great decrease law's combo damage because of no wall damage. Knee has said that law is difficult to win at tournaments. If he is really that good, why don't knee use law to fight against pakistani players? Because he knows he won't win with law because law has some major weakness and so Knee will never rank him as top 5, I mean here in Asia we never rank him as top 5 because we know his weakness. Actually if you have played law since T4, his old moves have been toned down for each installment for example,8 frames jabs, 4,3 jails, dss has auto-parry...etc. Of course he also receive some new moves and buff him a bit. I mean if you think he is super strong, and easy why don't you use law to win a tournament? I mean any tournament like local tournaments in your country? I mean he is sure inside top 15, but in your opinion top 3 or the greatest is just ridiculous and biased. Your opinion isn't better than knee's opinion IMO. LOL I mean it depends on the tekken level of that region, if your region players never punish, never duck, never spacing..etc of course Law is super strong. I mean this is why Asia players don't feel Law is that strong because we know his weakness and know more to deal with his DSS arts. His dss arts actually are not as great as other players think. If you have good throw breaking skills you really have no reason to fear his DSS arts. When you see good law does fast DSS, I mean the best way to deal with DSS arts is to be ready to throw break which it's easy because his DSS throws don't have 2 hands throw, and don't do any moves because he only has a crappy slow low move that does shit damage, other moves are mid or high. Law is my secondary main and I have played him since T4. This is just my opinion.

Yeah, Law is great....IF you have experience and great execution. He has great tools but nothing comes easy for him. His lows are all either low damage or punishable. His df2 as you mentioned doesn't launch on crouching opponents where EVERY other character with that type of upper cut does. It has to hit clean. His bread and butter combos are ALL require dss to get any damage, including wall combos. That clean hit ender was hard to do because it takes masterful execution. Those you see do it Consistently deserve praise and respect 100. Probably worst rage drive in the game. He is great but you will definitely work for it.

At the wall, you need to do dss f3 with a delay to get the clean hit. Anyways good summery of law imo, I see a lot of pro players failing the dss transition now and then due to being hard to do, and also his none-seeable lows are not very threatening, in combination with his relatively short range on many mid pokes does so holding back in general is a good idea against him, also backdashing to bait out wiffs seems to be good.

Ran into a law the other day when I was leveling up my Lee chaolan in green ranks. Holy shit, he FLOORED me. It was like playing against someone on turbo. He used moves I didn't even know Law had, and his dss transitions were so fast the move came out instantly. I was blown away, If I run into that guy on my main, I'm sure I'm fucked.

29 damage on wall combo is that you need to delay a bit the F 3 in the DSS so that the kick connect to the head

You forgot to mention if you're fast enough with the WS4 you can get a natural combo if you're on point with your DSS. WS4 ~DSS, 3+4, 4. that'll start a combo but it's hard as balls.

DSS is hard on pad

Played a Law online that abused that 13f homing kick that leaves him back turned. I would either trade blows with him after blocking it or they would go into backturned shenanigans where he ducks or does the ducking low block turn around into slide or ws4 DSS shenanigans. It was a such a suppressive playstyle that I quit Tekken for about a week cuz the match was so frustrating. I gotta few wins in sure, but the experience left my morale pretty low. The absolute worst though, are the high rank Lei players who look like they’re having a seizure and ice skating backwards at the same time cuz they’re constantly abusing Lei’s Backturned stance and play dead stance trying to bait you to come after them and eat some launcher from play dead. And on that note, I can’t help but feel like Lei can’t be challenged framewise. His moves have so much priority and active frames that pushing a button or even moving guarantees a hit. It’s absurd.

If you can frame perfect his 4,3 DSS 3 to get “clean hit”, you get a bigger damage boost as well. So even if DSS is easier, it still retains the difficulty of max damage with frame precision. You have to DSS a bit faster Main man.
