Easy to follow and thorough step by step tutorials do it yourself (DIY) videos to help you with your broken lawn and garden equipment including snowblowers and zero turn mowers.
I do my best to teach you how to easily diagnose problems the fastest, quickest and most efficient way with real repairs beyond just replacing a spark plug. These tips are for both the homeowner and shop owner.
Whether it be a handheld, two stroke, two cycle engine like a chainsaw, weed eater, weed wacker, string trimmer, grass trimmer, line trimmer, hedge trimmer, strimmer, brush cutter, leaf blower, or four stroke, four cycle units like a lawnmower, wood splitter, lawn tractor, zero turn mower, snowblower, pressure washer, generator or a ride on mower that needs parts installed or replaced, I’m your go-to guy.
My favorite brands of spark plugs are NGK and Champion and are the ones I recommend.
I’ve been a small engine mechanic for many decades and also run my own repair shop so my videos are loaded with tips and tricks that I have learned and want to share with you. You will also find many tool and product reviews from top brands on my channel as well.
I have the largest Small Engine Repair Video Library on KZfaq and the entire internet with over 1200 videos, just GOOGLE "DONYBOY73"!

nice video thanks. I had a devil of a time with my JD x320 same situation clicking and not starting. However on my machine as I am sure you know, the solenoid is bolted onto the starter and also moves the bendix gear of the starter to the flywheel..It would only fail to start intermittently (when my brother in law was borrowing of course). First I replaced just the solenoid and it was fine for awhile but then back to its old tricks. So then I did what I should have done in the first place, replaced the entire starter, (which comes with a new solenoid already installed), and presto now it starts every time. I really enjoy your channel and watch everything, have learned a lot, much appreciated,

Sir, ❤ thank you!! My husband passed away last year, taking care of my home alone is overwhelming and expensive. He left me his barely used John Deere mower. I wasn’t thrilled but it beats pulling on a lawnmower starter rope. I’m 65yrs old. I’m a retired RN and used to be pretty strong but unless I begin weight training, my strength will no increase. So, I have never done engine work, pretty intimidating actually but this video and all of your positive information and ideas have given me pause to go down that path of learning. The solenoid on the tractor was dead. You have no idea what a joy and relief to have fixed the green machine myself!! Thank you so much, you have blessed a widow. You will have an extra measure of help from above for your generous service, my dear husband has rallied other heavenly beings to surround you with blessings for providing for his devoted wife. Thank you!!!❤

I used to have a few older Ford cars and trucks, and very often the same problem would occur. You shut the car down, then come back to hear that clicking. The starter solenoid would be mounted on the right front inner fender under the hood. You could short across it to start your car, but, ultimately replacing the solenoid would have to be replaced. I learned to keep a couple extras on board. Not the same thing, but Chrysler cars had a resistor mounted on the firewall. When it failed, no start. So again, when I had any Chrysler made car, Dodge, Plymouths, and of course Chrysler, I kept a few resistors on board. Good vid.👍

Gosh Dony I wish I had this last year......I have a 2005 John Deere LT133 and I had several issues and I think I still have a couple. But I replaced the solenoid and that definitely helped but also the Brake/clutch pedal switch which you showed us last year and the lift deck switch were also two checks. If I pull back on the deck lift lower bar thing that also has one of the gray safety switches under the body. I found nothing would happen when I turned the key and then if I pulled the deck lift bar as far towards as I could it would start. SO I know I have to replace the switch also. That might be a help for JD owners as well.

Donyboy, I'm going thru this same symptom on a Husqvarna Zero Turn. I've already swapped out the solenoid twice already and it seems that with each new solenoid it only fires up one time. I added a new starter also and a new switch. Even though the old one was clicking when I had benched tested it. I've not taken a screwdriver across the poles yet cause I was hoping to see a bad wire or something. I started watching your channel years ago and am never disappointed at your content.

Had a John deere once that I thought had a bad solenoid because it was clicking and would sometimes crank. Replaced the solenoid and starter and it still did it.
