I PUT THE GASKET ON FIRST AND IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE DIAPHRAGM. JUST TO CORRECT IT IN THIS VIDEO.This is a Briggs And Stratton push to prime carburettor that is in need of a full stripdown and restoration. In this video, we also fit a new gasket and diaphragm and gasket, a new air filter and a new primer bulb. We also clean the carb and fuel tank and re paint the tank with rattle can paint and a 2k lacquer. A list of the parts are listed below. This carb is fitted to many Briggs engines namely the 3.5hp Classic and Sprint Engines.
Briggs and Stratton Primer Bulb amzn.to/2VIx6X4
Briggs And Stratton Air Filter amzn.to/2C7hOCq
Briggs And Stratton Carb Gasket & Diaphragm Set amzn.to/2VHa4zS

Can't beat the old classic Briggs engine, simple and always reliable! Proper job on the restoration! Myself and my little helper Riley have just finished a complete strip clean and rebuild of mine and is now purring perfectly ready for the next season! Riley is loving the vids more now as he views you on a 44" screen!!

Looking forward to the next one. I specialise in restoring these engines for resale and hope that maybe i can get a few tips. always interesting to see how others do it. Top work. It is amazing what a little bit of paint can do to an old and tired carb. If I had to add just one thing, I would have removed the black paint from the white plastic tube where the bulb is located.

Hello Martin Great job very professionally done. Only one question, how come you didn't take the jet out to check/clean it? Is there a reason you didn't? Just curious. The reason I asked is because I recently bought a lawnmower project and it was blocked. Took me a while to figure it out lol Fantastic channel look forward to watching more, better than the tele lol
@RetroHax

I soaked it with carb cleaner and blew it out with the air line. These carbs don't have tiny jet holes and I have never had one of these blocked and I have done hundreds.

@AtomicReverend 5 жыл бұрын
Briggs went to a plastic body on some of their engines back in the mid 1980s, I think about 1987 or so, the engine you are watching being restored came out in I believe 1958, originally it was designed with an aluminum carb... I think California emissions caused the redesign. Personally I prefer the metal carburetor as opposed to the plastic but both do work well.

One time I had twenty dollars in my pencil case to buy lunch with.I was only 11 at the time and twenty bucks was a lot for me.Any way we had science and I was doing a worksheet.I was at a table sitting with my 2 friends.There was also another boy who wasn’t really my friend but he got moved to our table for talking.Any way halfway through my worksheet I caught the boy(whose name was Dylan) taking my money out.I thought it was just a joke and I took it back from him.After I finished my worksheet I started to pack up for lunch when I realised the twenty was gone.I knew it was Dylan but he Denied it.My other friends could have never taken it cuz I would’ve saw.I was facing them.The bell rang and Dylan just ran out the door.I searched everywhere there was no chance of me dropping it.For lunch I starved because I didn’t have any food.Ever since I just avoided Dylan.I knew he took it.Looking back I should’ve put the twenty in my pocket but I didn’t.I even thought about taking my money back from his wallet he left on the table a couple of times.But I couldn’t.I didn’t want to be thief and make someone else starve either.Its almost 3 years ago.I don’t know what to do
