Fun movie fact: the company that did all the VR and special effects scenes for the lawnmower man would eventually get a new start in video game designing and later would eventually become Rockstar Games. (The makers of Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption)

Even in those last moments and Jobe is well past being able to be salvaged at this point, he still shows compassion for Peter. He actually lets Dr. Angelo go so he can save Peter Despite the possibility he makes it harder for Jobe to escape. Even yo the point of pausing his escape to unlock the door to save Peter. Talk about character development
@quakecon2009 Жыл бұрын
Peter and the guy who was shot (his boss) were the only two people in the film who were kind to Jobe when he was a simple man. He saved Peters life and he avenged his bosses. He fully intended on killing Dr Angelo by keeping him trapped in the simulation (but only then because Angelo had in essence attempted to kill jobe by encrypting the network and then blowing it up before he could escape as a packet. When you look at how much power Jobe had, he really only went after people who were a threat to him, harmed him or those he cared for. He even killed Peters Dad because he abused Peter. Jobe was ultimately too evolved to be judged by other people. even Dr Angelo said he lost all his power over the physical world when he was in there, but Angelo was wrong about that too. What else was he wrong about. Its a brilliant film IMO, it gets slated a lot, but there is a LOT of creative thinking in this film which stood the test of time. I was so disappointed with the sequel which was obviously a cash in which had nothing to do with this interesting, niche type of film.

I think the visuals of the VR scenes are brilliant. They look creepy as they should. My favorite part is CyberJobe only looking human (simple skin color) when he is aware of Peter (his only real friend) being nearby. At any other moment he is the only virtual object having highly-detailed textures.

I’d like an explanation for why Job’s physical body seems to have shriveled just because his mind entered VR space. There doesn’t seem to be a real good reason for that-other than it being a good excuse for a kinda creepy special effect.

I remember I bought the movie on DVD about sixeen years ago since it came to mind' it has two versions of the movie' one is the original and the other is a director's cut with scenes that was never shown before' I remember seeing it on scifi once and what I liked best about the movie was taking a disabled child minded man and using some of kinda tech to Improve the mind by making smart as he never was before, making a bit of change by not just improving the mind and making him smart but also maybe to improve the body as well' I only imagine somethings like that could be used to change a disable person's mind but maybe without giving him the ability of teleconysis. Just make him smart by even making him a better man' maybe teleconysis could improve your art talent by wanting to draw something on your mind on what you want to create' that's what I love about the movie' I never tried VR before but I wish it would still be around more for us to try out like how it was done in the movie' like wear a VR suit and get into that spinning thing around and around but never eat anything before you try it or other wise you start felling unwell after the first spinning' always remember before you do that. Still a good movie to this day' I believe the director's cut is more better than the original trust me, go and watch it!

Marvel Comics has had MANY characters with the power to warp reality. Those have always been the characters I’ve been fascinated by, but at the same time, it’s really overdone. You just shouldn’t have so many people with that much power.

@@brianpaschal7755 Tell me what you think of my main criticism of “Infinity War”: It’s incredibly stupid that Thanos thought that he had to kill off half of the living beings in the universe just because there was supposedly not enough space and/or not enough resources for all, and that led to conflict. HE HAD TOTAL CONTROL OF REALITY once he had the “REALITY” stone alone! (I posit that the reality stone obviates any need for any other stone.) Why not, instead of killing off half of everyone, just WILL THERE TO BE ENOUGH SPACE AND RESOURCES IN THE UNIVERSE FOR ALL?! Wouldn’t that have been infinitely preferable to killing so many people? And why kill off those beings and LEAVE GAPS WHERE THEY USED TO BE, when your control over reality should mean that you could remake reality with them never having existed, and therefore not being missed?! I guess what I’m saying is that the plot is extremely myopic-i.e. extremely poorly written.
