For attention Mr. "Larry" GERATY In the "Qualcomm Institutes" conference of 31 May-1June 10213, Lawrence Geraty, mentions the 480 years of 1.Ki.6:1, and incorrectly uses it as the baseline for calculating the time from the EXODUS, until the "fourth year" of King SOLOMON !! When the Biblical genealogy given for the "wilderness wanderings" is ; ............ The 41 years, until the Entrance into Canaan. The 30 years of Joshua's conquest of Canaan, The 12 years of the 'Elders' that outlived JOSHUA. The 111 years of 7 SERVITUDES , The 379 years of 16 JUDGES, the 5 years of Israel's Civil WAR, ........which brings us to the total of 579 years until the First year of King SAUL !! Then the 40 years of king SAUL , the 40 years of king DAVID , and the 4 Years of king SOLOMON, until the laying of the TEMPLE FOUNDATION , as recorded in 1.Kings 6:1. This then Adds up to a total of 662 years from the time of the EXODUS, until the 4th year of king SOLOMON !! So where does LAWRENCE GERATY get this FRADULENT 1446 B.C. EXODUS DATING information from ?? As it does not fit with Either Biblical or Historic Facts !! Furthermore, the "fourth year" of king SOLOMON, according to the the Genealogy from the time of the EXODUS, pinpoints it to be 1028 B.C., ..... and NOT 970 B.C. !!! This FACT is ALSO Corroborated by the Complete list of the "22 Kings, and One Queen of JUDAH" , that began with the First year of King SAUL, and continued for 525 years , until the 11th year of King ZEDEKIAH, when he was captured by King NEBUCHADNEZZAR , in 587 B.C. !!! ( a non-negotiable Historic FACT !! ) When we now ADD the 525 years of the Reign of the 23 Regents of JUDAH to the 587 B.C. Date of the capture of King ZEDEKIAH, ...we end up with 1112 B.C. as the FIRST YEAR of King SAUL !!! Adding the 84 years of King SAUL, King DAVID, and Until the fourth year of king SOLOMON, Again Corroborates the 4th year of King SOLOMON as 1028 B.C. !!! So Mr. GERATY , Where do you get your "scholarly" misinformation from, as it cannot be from the Biblical Scriptures. Please Respond, Mr. GERATY !! Two Egyptologists, Kenneth Kitchen and James B. Hoffmeier have both noted that the Bible's internal chronology suggests that about 600 years elapsed instead of 480 years (1 Kings 6:1). Add 600 to 957 BC (Solomon's 4th year, cf. p. 1548. The New Oxford Annotated Bible with Apocrypha, 1970) and we get an Exodus circa 1557 BC, in the reign of Ahmoses I, aligning the Exodus with the Hyksos Expulsion. Another Egyptologist, Donald B. Redford, has opined that the Hyksos Expulsion is being recalled and recast as Israel's Exodus. The Jewish Historian Flavius Josephus ca. 70 AD, opined that the Hyksos Expulsion mentioned by the Egyptian historian Manetho was in fact the Israelite Exodus (Josephus had claimed that the Exodus was around 600 years before the Temple's building by Solomon). Dame Kathleen Kenyon determined that Jericho's severely burned defensive walls had occurred on the heels of the Hyksos Expulsion under Ahmoses I and that the city had been destroyed by Egyptians. The Bible tells us that a people come from Egypt (Israel and Joshua) had burned Jericho and all that was in it to the ground. Was there an Exodus as described in the Bible? Archaeology says no. There is no evidence for the Sinai (no shattered pottery debris of 600,000 Israelite warriors and their families). People and animals need water and no Israelite pottery or Egyptian pottery for the Exodus dates have been found near any of Sinai's wells. However there is archaeological evidence for the pre-biblical origins of the Bible's fictional Exodus in the Sinai at two Egyptian sites (1) Serabit el Khadim and (2) Har Timna (Gebel Meneiyeh) in the form of two Egyptian shrines or temples dedicated to the Egyptian sky-cow-goddess called Hat-Hor ("House of Hor", Greek: Horus, the Hawk-god). It is often claimed that no Ramesside archaeological evidence exists in the southern Sinai for a Ramesside period Exodus. The claim is party right and partly wrong. There is no evidence of Israel but there is Ramesside evidence behind the Bible's scenarios. At Serabit el Khadim exists pharonic cartouches (king's names in ovals) for Ahmose I (1580 BC) through Rameses VI (1130 BC). At Har Timna the Hathor shrine has the cartouche of Rameses III and an image of the pharaoh carved on the rock face towering above the shrine. Both sites also have Ramesside pottery debris and artifacts. At Timna was found a bronze snake near the shrine with traces of gilding. The excavator noted a parallel with Moses' brazen serpent lifted on a staff to heal Israel of snake bites. Also at the Timna was found Midianite pottery recalling Moses asking Midianites to lead Israel to Canaan. Timna had the remains of a tabernacle tent decorated in beads and nearby a row of standing stones called masseboth. A large boulder was carefully placed atop a rock hewn basin and under it votives were found including cloth items. Moses' ten commandments hewn from Mt. Sinai and shattered at its base by him upon witnessing the Golden Calf's worship? Hewn tables of stone exist at the base of mounts about Serabit el Khadem with Protosiniatic inscriptions, fallen from the mount's sides due to erosion (erected near mining caves' entrances), could these have been recast as the Ten Commandments? Israel's noisy carousing about the Golden Calf? Hathor was honored by naked dancing, singing, and drunkenness by her devotees. She bore the epithet Nubt mean "the golden one" and at times is portrayed in gold gilt as a cow, a woman with cow horns, a cow nursing a calf, sometimes a cow nursing Pharaoh. In Egyptian tomb art Hathor is shown emerging from a cave, she admitted the dead to the underworld via her cave. A cave dedicated to her exists in her shrine at Serabit el Khadim. Why the honoring of her with nude drunken song and dance? In myth mankind offended Re the sun god, so Hathor descended from heaven to avenge him by annihilating wicked mankind. She was so successful Re feared all of mankind would be destroyed. So to stop the carnage beer dyed red, to resemble blood, was poured out on to the earth, she lapped up what she thought was the slain's blood, got drunk and passed out in a drunken stupor. So as Hathor got drunk, so her devotees got drunk too. Was this recast as Israel drinking the gold dust of the destroyed Golden Calf by Moses? That is to say Hathor's devotees, imitating her, drank like she did, into a drunken stupor. So to honor her fierceness, her devotees in drunken song and dance honored her, perhaps recast as Israel's song and dance before the Golden Calf? Tomb tumuli exist at Serabit el Khadim with grave stones asking for food and drink for the deceased (recast as Israel complaining about a lack of food and drink?). The thousands of Israel slain for worshipping the Golden Calf was a recast of Hathor slaying men in the thousands for rebelling against Re. Hathor was the sky and she was at times fused with Nut another sky cow godess. They gave birth to the sun each morning at Sun rise. This event in tomb art is shown as a sun-calf emerging between two trees at Heliopolis or On. Tomb art also shows a solar boat carrying Horus and a male calf with a star over its back (Pharaoh being associated with a sun calf and pole star at death). Old Kingdom tomb texts note a deceased pharaoh pleading to be allowed to ride the solar bark as a GOLDEN CALF. So Hathor/Nut are portrayed as the mother of the Sun, and its deceased pharaoh as a Golden Calf. Aaron proclaimed to Israel that the Golden Calf had lead Israel to Mt. Sinai. From an Egyptian perspective this would be true as the sun was envisioned as riding the solar bark/boat as a deceased GOLDEN CALF Pharaoh. Israel leaving Egypt would head East-South-East toward Sinai and take her bearing each sunrise following the Sun's Golden Calf. Who would know all this? Canaanites who worked the copper mines with Egyptians, who returned to their homes in Canaan, while Egyptians returned to Egypt. The Bible claims Israel married Canaanites and worshipped their gods. Via these intermarriages Israel would rightly claim descent from the Hyksos who settled at Jerusalem according to Manetho. I am not saying there is archaeological evidence for Israel in the Sinai, but there is pre-biblical archaeological evidence for the scenarios preserved and recast in the fictious Exodus account. When written? Circa 562-560 BC in the Babylonian Exile. The day will never come that will provide archaeological evidence for the Exodus in Sinai, but we do have the evidence of real events in the Sinai that were recast by the 562 BC narrator into Israel's Exodus. For more info see my KZfaq videos on what archaeology reveals about the pre-biblical origins of the Bible as recast historical events, just type in Walter R. Mattfeld in the KZfaq search box. Gebel Musa is favored by many to be Mt. Sinai/Horeb, but no archaeological evidence exists for any Exodus time period proposed. Only Serabit el Khadim has evidence from Ahmose I to Ramesses VI. Near Serabit el Khadim are two mounts, Gebal Ghorabi and Gebel Saniya, could these be in corrupt Arabic form Mount Horeb/Choreb and Mount Sinai?

One way to date the Exodus is via archaeology. In the Bible Joshua is portrayed burning two cities first, Jericho and second, Hazor. What saith archaeology? At Jericho a burned city was confirmed, ash being found everywhere, shortly after the defensive walls fell due to an earthquake. The excavator, Dame Kathleen Kenyon, associated this event with the Hyksos Expulsion, circa 1550 BC. At Hazor ash was found everywhere, confirming a severe burning of the destroyed city. The excavators dated this event to the mid 13th century BC (Yigael Yadin and Ammon Ben Tor). However, the Israeli archaeologist, Moshe Dothan, found two Philistine sherds at Hazor, before its being excavated by Yadin and Ben Tor. this suggests to me that Hazor was burned some time after the 1175 BC arrival of the Philistines in Canaan as noted by Pharaoh Rameses 3rd, who defeated their attempt to also conquer Egypt. IT IS PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR JOSHUA TO BURN JERICHO IN 1550 BC AND HAZOR AFTER 1175 BC, OVER A TIME SPAN OF 300 YEARS BETWEEN THE TWO SITES' BURNINGS. ERGO, THE EXODUS, AS PRESENTED IN THE BIBLE, IS FICTION, AND THE BIBLE IS THUS NOT THE WORD OF GOD.

She dated the destruction at Jericho to 1550bce, however, Garstung had originally dated the destruction layer to 1400bce based on the pottery found, as well as Egyptian amulets concurrent to it. Kathleen Kenyon had also found pottery in the destruction layer dating to circa 1400bce and cataloged it, but ignored it in her final report(released in the early 1980s after her death). Archeologist Bryant Wood has since visited the site and dated the destruction layer to 1400bce based on the pottery. Kenyon pushed the date back to 1550bce(as in, revising Garstung's dating) based on the absence of a certain type of expensive imported near eastern pottery found at other sites in the area dating to circa 1400bce. This imported pottery type has since been found in the destruction layer at Jericho. Kenyon didn't excavate the whole town, or even the whole circuit of wall. If she were alive today, she would date the bronze age destruction of Jericho to 1400bce. As for Hazor, there are two similar biblical stories about a Jabin, king of Hazor. The first one in Joshua has Joshua defeating him and his allies, and burning Hazor to the ground. The second one is a century and a half later in the book of Judges, and this other Jabin is likewise defeated. Both defeats supposedly spell the end of major Canaanite resistance to their invasion. If the invasion of Joshua is dated to circa 1400bce, then the defeat of the 2nd Jabin would be circa 1240bce. The author of Exodus and/or Judges may have conflated or confused the two events. Regardless, the fact of Israelites taking over the highlands of Canaan during the late bronze age is not controversial. I don't follow the logic of "He couldn't have done both so the entire story is fiction."

This lecture is FLAWED, and its dating COMPLETELY WRONG !!! The 480th year, to the fourth year of Solomon, spoken of in 1Ki.6:1 describes the time of ISRAELS "Security" , ...AFTER... coming out of EGYPT !! This does not include the 41 years of the wilderness wanderings in Arabia, nor the 111 years of "Servitudes" , while in CANAAN!!! So to quote 1.Ki.6:1, is ludicrous, if you do not know from which point to begin your reckoning !! Here's how we determine the 480 years !! We know from both HISTORY and the Biblical account, that King Zedekiah , of Judah, was taken captive in his eleventh year, by King Nebuchadnezzar, in 587 B.C. Factor 'backwards', and add the 525 years of the reign of the 23 Kings of Judah, to the known 587 B.C. date, from Zedekiah's 11 year, back to King Saul's first year, and we arrive at 1,112 B.C., for the date when Saul was made King !! Add to that, the 537 years, that the Bible discusses ( the 30 years of Joshua, the 14 years of the "Elders that outlived Joshua", and the timelines given for the 16 "Judges", from Othniel to Samuel , the 111 years for the 'Seven Servitudes' , and one Civil War )....... and you arrive at , 1,649 B.C. , for the date of entering CANAAN !!! So how do we figure the 480 years to Solomon's 4th year ?? SIMPLY This;...Take the date of Saul being made King, (1112 B.C., from the above "backwards reckoning of the 23 Kings of Judah, from the 11th year of Zedekiah, in 587 B.C. ) Then add to it the known dates of the reign of both King SAUL and King DAVID, plus the four years of King SOLOMON, a total of 84 years, and deduct it from 1112, B.C., and you arrive at the year 1028 B.C. Then figure "backwards" again, from this 1028 B.C. of King Solomon's 4th year, by adding the 480 years of 1. Ki.6:1, ...That then brings us to 1508 B,C., then add back the 111 years of SERVITUDES and the 30 years of Joshua's continued Conquest, ( at which time ISRAEL was not safe ) that totals 141 years to be added to the 1508 B.C. Date ( already established ABOVE ) and we arrive at 1649 B.C., THE DATE OF ENTERING CANAAN UNDER JOSHUA !!! Now add to that the 41 years that ISRAEL Wandered in the wilderness, and you arrive at the date of 1,690 B.C. FOR THE EXODUS, ( not 1,446 B.C., or even 1,250 B.C. as speculated by modern academia ) That corresponds with the THERA/Santorini Explosion of 1,690 B.C. , and the fact that the ISRAELITES came out of EGYPT under the reign of Pharaoh "Merneferre-Ay' , (of the Thirteenth Dynasty ) See how you academics DISTORT THE TRUTH, with your "Seculative" Ideas !!!!
