I remember this. Absolute war. Mike was swinging heat from start to finish. And all the credit in the world to Chahid. He hung tough, gave as good as he got and even scored a knockdown.

You should do a breakdown in this fight Lawrence. How Zambo punishes the upper and lower bodie of the "Pitbull" , trying to find the jaw after each liver punch and how the Marocan tries to go for the legs to take all his power away. When the Marocan tried to go toe to toe with punches , it was game over. Huge respect to both fighters. Amazing technical brawl.

4. The announcer just made the violence look crazier to boost up their promotion as the best. Was the best at that time though. 3. Yea, they hate each other over nationality and probably shetty taunts behind the scenes. Yes, Jesus knows why better then we do and is going to have a field day on them when they go talk to him after they die. 2.Chahid is tough but was not the same after this fight, no one ever is after taking hits like that. 1.Yep, back in those days it was normal to be pumped on roids and thus you get this combined with fueled hatred.

In Morocco, we have what’s called “Alnafs” which in Arabic means The Soul. When we fight we fight with Alnafs or Soul... That’s what Chahid was fighting the Greek with ...set aside the technical side or the physical strengths if you don’t have that Soul’s strength don’t even try to fight a Moroccan...Salam to you all

Important commentary at the end. Fans love it when fighters beat the crap out of each other and get knocked down and out, but every time that happens it takes years off of the lives of the fighters - both in terms of healthy years and life span as well. I once met and trained with Coban, who had the famous wars with Ramon Dekkers. As we know, Dekkers passed away very young...and the cumulative effect of the damage Coban sustained was also very apparent. As a kickboxing fan I gravitate much more towards the evasive technicians like Giorgio Petrosyan, in part because fighters like that are at least trying to avoid the long term neurological damage.
