Btw, when your fishing at that bridge and casting right up to the beams, you need to set the hook and pull in the opposite direction of where you want the fish to go. For example, on the first one you pulled left and up...so the fish ran right, directly towards the pilings and down to the bottom. If you pulled to your right and as low as possible the fish would run the opposite direction and ran away from the piling. Fish always run in the opposite direction of where they are getting pull from

You’re pulling at my heart strings here, fishing the Hobe Sound bridge! Unfortunately I’m stationed out in Texas for the next 4 years. So it’ll be a while before fishing there again. Btw I’ve caught a few Goliath’s at the greenfield pier about a mile south of the bridge if your looking for docks to flip

We always used braided nylon around structures with a locked down drag. It let us force the fish away from problems. We straightened out a few hooks but rarely got cut off.
