Lawsuit filed over new age minimum for Florida strip club workers

Several dancers are suing the State of Florida over a new law that bans strip clubs from hiring anyone under 21. FOX 13’s Jordan Bowen reports.

@@joshuacox5817 Incorrect. It is like saying Marijuana is NOT a gateway drug, yet all addicts admit that they started down the path of hard drugs after the marijuana wasn't doing it for them anymore. Two of my sisters were dancers and it nearly destroyed their lives. A lot of girls use illicit drugs to cope with the lifestyle and even more will receive additional money for private time after work, etc. Just because other laws and enforcement methods could and should be used to combat drugs, majority of which comes from the wide open borders, does NOT mean you can't take other measures to stop teens from being strippers.

@@BetsyRoss76 Do 18 year olds have any business going into the military and experiencing war at that age? 🤔 Perhaps raise military service age to 21? Seems much more damaging to a young person to be involved in war than dancing around naked on a stage.

Statistically maybe 1 percent of girls working in clubs are being trafficked... The truth is a lot of lonely men are being hustled out of a lot of money... These girls are not victims, they're scam artists. Listen to some of the vids of people who actually worked in these clubs

Literally no one actually believes this so long as restaurants serve alcohol. No one would tell restaurants that all employees have to be 21.

Listen, any form of “adult entertainment” is set at the age of 21 and older. Gamble at Casino - 21⬆️ Legally drink - 21⬆️ Legally smoke - 21⬆️ Legally carry a weapon - 21⬆️ And last, you can’t even go to a club under 21. I see No wrong on Floridas law and does not interfere with first amendment rights

Is actually a really good law? Because it should have been 21 and older to order the to work in a script club. It's the same way as walking into an adult bookstore video, you have to be 21 in order. It's the same way as buying alcohol, you have to be 21 and older, you're still young. What the new law is trying to do is trying to get these young ladies. Out of it before they get addicted and then other bad things happen. That's what they need to think about 1819 20 years old trying to do a scripper. You're way too young. There is other better life than being a scripture. I know I had nieces who went through the same damn thing. They were 1819 years old being a scripper. And they want you bad thing. Don't make the same mistake for all of the young ladies. You have to be more positive showing your new body off. That's not positive. That's very negative and all you're doing is open the door for every damn man to stalk you to. Follow you this new law all of us.Trying to do is just to help out the younger generation that who are 18 to 20 years old.Go do something else that is better for your life

Every law passed. The one's who are for the laws, always convince themselves they are helping. Blinded by their chosen ignorance. Cause they are convinced that they are helping, they choose to ignore the people who say they are being harmed by laws of any kind and what affects those laws have made to their lives. I'm 40. I've never been to a strip club. But if an adult 18 and up decide that's what they want to do to earn a living, then that's their right to choose for themselves. Stop making laws that dictate how adults make choices for their lives. You're not making a beneficial difference. You're just convinced that you are. While ignoring the negative consequences your choice bring to other people's lives.

I was out on the streets from the age of 12 A man in Orlando who was a millionaire picked me up and treated me like I was his own daughter never touched me He was the owner of several strip and total nudes clubs. At the age of 16 I made the decision to start working in his clubs. I paid my way through college, had my own condo dog and car at the age of 16 I worked my butt off and went to college at the same time. Never did I do any drugs at that age never was I approached to try and and work on the streets, And I think that this law is actually a bunch of BS. If someone chooses to work at these clubs, It's because they need the money regular jobs do not pay what you need to live off of.

No my mom didn't tell me to strip She put me out at the age of 12, because I had too many black or Puerto Rican friends and the boy that I liked was half Puerto Rican and half black. That was not okay with her. She told me I can only talk to white children. And I told her that I was not okay with that. You can't force someone to like or be around somebody that they don't want to like or be around. I was picked up by a millionaire in Orlando that owned strip clubs. He treated me like I was his own daughter and never touched me. I started working in the clubs at the age of 16 and put myself through college even though he offered to pay for it. So not everybody is there for the wrong reason I wasn't on drugs I didn't drink alcohol and I eventually got my own condo car and dog. I worked in the clubs for years and absolutely loved it.
