WRONG, there was never a lawsuit. There was a "cease and desist" ordered by Gibson against the company that made the Ibanez Les Pauls and before that order was put into the legal system Ibanez had already changed its headstocks so it never went anywhere. There was no out of court settlement. I've owned a 1977 2341 since it was new, and it was my main LP for years. Had a middle pickup kill switch added by Perry's Music when I bought it new. Very nice sounding and the star tuners and the Super 70's are quite reliable. also had some metal neck inserts added a while back.

I have a 75 Ibanez 2350. Its 49 years pld. It plays great. The binding is still perfect, I put DiMarzios in it and it sounds great. It has a character of its own. It has a real vibe,mojo,to it.

actually, on a point of technicality, that isn't the lawsuit Les Paul, as you can tell by the rabbit ears inlay. The inlay was changed to the rabbit ears from the previous 'lawsuit' diamond inlay on the headstock.

I'd love to get my hands on a lawsuit Firebird. Or one built by Orville By Gibson. They just keep getting more expensive. When I was a teenager in the 1980s, you could find any of them for 150.00 bucks at your local pawn shop. Same w/ a 1960s Vox Teardrop, or 60s fuzzbox.

I actually own an Ibanez "Lawsuit" Les Paul, and it's quite unusual. First of all, it has a BLONDE body. I don't know what the wood is. The same wood was used for the neck, but I'm under the impression that the fret board is actually maple. I'm on the hunt for an Ibanez "Lawsuit" SG, but I don't hold out hope in finding one, and if I do, I'll probably end up going into hock for it.

Tuning would have been nice.

You immediately lost credibility in the opening vignette as your guitar was out of tune. The original "lawsuit" Ibanez was the 2350. There technically wasn't a lawsuit...it was a cease and desists over the "open book" headstock and the truss rod cover. The 2350 was the target as it also featured the diamond inlays.
