Napo never said that he is a royal from Manhyia. He is the biological grand son of late Asantehene Otumfuor Sir Osei Agyeman Prempeh . He is rather a royal from Apagya Fie and Late President Kuffuor is also his biological grand father from the maternal side

Someone whose paternal grandfather is Prempeh II is not a royal? So lawyer is saying Otumfour Osei Tutu's children are not Royals? Look, in Ashanti, the descendants of every Asantehene are royals and they have stools. There are several stools in Ashanti which are occupied by the sons & grandsons of Asantehene. Again, When Otumfour sits in state, all those who sit around him are the sons & grandsons of previous Asantehene. And Otumfour is bound to meet all the wives, sons and grandsons of previous Asantehene every month. Check your facts lawyer. You got things wrong.

Why didn't the historian search for where the mother comes from before making such conclusion. The fact that Napo may not be able to mount the Asante throne doesn't mean he is not a royal. Otumfuor's children can't mount the throne but that doesn't mean they are not from the Royal family. Blood is blood but when it is about looking for a successor to a stool it is then traced to women in the royal family. The historian is not entirely right.

The historian is totally wrong saying Napo is not from the Royal family. In Akan every individual belongs to two families, father's family as well as mothers family. But when it comes to finding a successor to a throne, we trace it to the mother's line. Napo is from the royal family by virtue of the father's blood running in him. But he cannot ascend to the throne because the mother is not from the family. He can only mount a throne in the mother's family. The fact that Otumfuor's children can't inherit/mount his throne doesn't mean they are not from the royal family.

This long narrative by the learned lawyer and historian is thouh educative and informative, is not necessary. After all Napo has long apologised for the unfortunate statement he made on Nkrumah. Did Napo insult Nkrumah in his statement. My humble advice to the astute historian is that he shouldn't allow himself to be used by divisive politicians. You're precious to us all; use your knowledge to unite Ghana.

Is lawyer Frimpong saying one isn't a royal if he doesn't maternally come from Manhyia? I am a royal but I don't belong to Manhyia. Lawyer Frimpong is a very knowledgeable historians. I respect him very well. However his position on Napo's royalty I find very problematic. Has Napo ever carried himself as a royal of Manhyia, especially on the day Napo made that unfortunate statement in Kumasi.

Pls,Dagombas and Asantes are not brothers.They were closed because of the help the Asantes used to get from the Dagombas in terms of war. It's rather Manprusi, Dagombas,and Nanumbas who are brothers.Amongst the three above, the Manprusi man being the elder.In fact,the rest of us were not under the control of the Dagombas. This is the true history and nothing else.

Hahaha why are you running away from your history? Asante is just a union, not a Tribe, that came only 300 years ago. All Akans, including the clans that formed Asante Union, first arrived in the North and it was Dagomba/dagbon people who host us. Our Akan ancestors lived them, inter-married, learned a lot from them for hundreds of years before they Descended southwest where most of us are today. Also during the Akan clans war with Denkyira for the freedom from Slavery, it was the Mosi/Dagomba and some defected Denkyira soldiers who Fought alongside with the Clans to defeat Denkyira. The Batakari worn by Yaa Asantewaa and all Akan warriors came from the North. Also In the past The Akans royals used to go to the North to Marry tall Northern women so that their offsprings will be taller. So we are closer to them than you think. You See since Asantes creation we have distorted all Akan customs, history, traditions, culture, to favor Asantes when everything they are practicing today comes from all Akans

Lawyer keeps flip floping. Lawyer doesn't understand Empire. What makes Asante Union an empire? Its just a union not even a Kingdom. Also Tema motoway was not paid by Asantes money....Ghana didnt pay. Nkrumah asked the Italians company to build it as a pilot project and if all goes well ghana Will give The Italian company the contract to build most Ghana Highways but Nkrumah was overthrown before that happened
