Some people believe that back buttering is necessary for large format tile. Most people believe that the mortar line should be all in the same direction to avoid air pockets....which he mostly did, but not completely. I've never tiled before, but am here on youtube learning. Not doing the above two things can lead to poor wetting of tile to mortar and thus lead to tile cracking (esp on floors) or tiles falling off. I like how he setup/planned the tiles/cuts on first two rows. I'm definitely going to do that on my project. Personal protective gear was very good too. I noticed he is not using a tool to set the wedges... is that not necessary? I like how careful he was to not get mortar on the front faces of the tiles. A lot of his success is likely do the the pre-work of making sure the floors and walls are square, level and plumb.

you do very beautiful work from the foam all the way to the tiling but questions: What kind of shower drain is that at the wall? Two.. how did you tile the drain part so no water stands? If you could in future show how you would tile to a square drain or a round drain like we use in USA and Britain please? Also: Like the music on some of the videos as well, and the LED lights in the shower area in the one video..loads of skill. I feel so much an amateur.

Throw some water on that tile when you cut them holes dude... still no respirator... you can add limestone chips to concrete in lungs... they are going to be able to use this dudes lungs on a belt sander if he continues doing all this work without a respirator! Also have a separate water bucket for cleaning the drill & tools dude the material in the (no longer) 'clean' water bucket for mixing now has a catalyst in it & will reduce working time of tile setting mortar... the tile spacer wedges are a good idea! I really don't like the concept of tiling walls before the floor! For all that work I would have at least added in floor heat panels with a computer controller to keep the tile at a warm temp at all times! Apparently his clothes are more important than his lungs?!!?

@cyborgnawegiel40545 жыл бұрын
