Absolutely use a bar. Pushing with the excavator to much risk. If your pipe isn’t straight you can roll the gasket inside

⁠⁠@@massfreak1use a grade rod to calculate the difference between every 200 feet off survey stakes then raise each pipe up a 5 hundredths or so untill you can run straight to grade of the next stake there’s no reason to send a pipe home uneven cuz your grade is too high. Bigger pipe is higher risk to roll a gasket due to it being uneven.

Specs of c900 say to leave a half inch of space between the bell and spigot. For deflection

Question. What do you charge per foot to install a 4" water line? If the customer provides material and you trench and install the line. I'm in Texas and I'm trying to compare pricing.

I’ll give these guys don’t know what they are doing but I push every joint with my bucket. There is no reason to make your guys bale up waterline with a bar.
