Wow! Seeing and hearing the gooney bird mating dance after all these years is like time-travel for me! My family lived on Midway Island for about three years in the mid-60's. For most of the year, Midway Island is home to many thousands of these birds, and during mating season it gets VERY noisy! I remember being a little kid, sent to bed while it was still light outside, with dozens, if not hundreds of gooneys doing that dance just outside my window. Jean, thank you for posting this!

I have watched other Laysans dance but these two seem much more advanced in their choreography, does anyone know how many years they have been together?

No Idea how long this couple has been together but apparently they can live for over 60 years so some will have had a lot more practice than others.
