Hey LaZeRJET, I think you should set the speed limit a lot higher, the speed limit on your race track is set to 90mph. But great race by the way.

Your issue here is that you've put a 90mph speed limit on the track so the HST was never going to catch up

@@SteamingThroughYorkshire it would because The HST is a maximum speed 148MPH and the Class 800 can only go 140 MPH in diesel and electric mode.

The HST is one of my favorite UK locomotives. If only us Americans had that High Speed Train on our lines. That would be really cool to see.

Honestly. Don’t have them go at the same speed. Just have them do full power and you will see the HST are WAY faster than class 800s. They just need time to catch up.

If the speed was increased to something ludicrous the HST could have possibly had a chance only saying this because I did a HST from Paddington - Cardiff following a IET schedule and ended only being 2 minutes behind it when I arrived into Cardiff

I'd say the problem with the new race track is the number of tracks there are. Other than that, it looks okay.

Great video mate. Can you do an EMD SD70ACe vs a GE ES44AC? Any livery will do fine. It should be interesting to see who is the fastest acceleration on the freight side of things.

By the way the 800/802 is electric ⚡️ from London Paddington but when it gets to Didcot Parkway it will change to diesel. The HST is diesel all the way to is destination

We need hybrid locomotives in America, especially for Amtrak’s north eastern corridor, since a few parts aren’t electrified yet

Us Americans don’t have Dual Mode Hybrid Self Propelled Cars still in service but we do have Dual Mode Hybrid Locomotives List: EMD DM30AC Bombardier ALP-45DP EMD FL9 GE P32AC-DM Fairbanks-Morse P-12-42 GE Three Power BoxCab If you get Confused with some, For Electric Mode, They use a Electrified Third Rail with a Contact Shoe

Do sumex flirt vs Union of South Africa, what you do is get the sumex ( if you already have one ) it’s the red white German train that goes to Frankfurt . The sumex and Union of South Africa are my favourite trains. Please do this request. You’ve never done any of my requests.

Lazer jet I have a video idea for you.for a future video do another race of all the greatest British steam engines: flying Scotsman,9F,tornado and mallard etc and bring back the old intro it's just a thought I had for a few hours and it might be impossible but I thought it would be cool if you did.

I can't find the tractive effort on the Class 800, so if anyone knows then reply. But that seems to be the big difference on taking off. HST has very low tractive effort at just under 18,000 lb/ft of pulling power. I just did a test of an F7 default consist in scenario editor on Castle Rock for fun, versus HST going up the 2.3% grade racing to Larkspur. The F7 A/B combo really smoked the HST off the line and won the race basically because of that. On speed limited routes the HST can't use its higher horsepower (2250hp vs F7's 1500hp) and loses the race at the start as it struggles for traction. Perhaps what you should try is the F7 A/B consist against that Class 800, I think you'll find a much more competitive race.

Basically, F7's 56,000+ starting tractive effort with 40,000 continuous really smokes the HST's 17,980 starting and 10,000 continuous. I'm sure you'll find the Class 800 probably has similar tractive effort advantage.

The class 800 has double carafes compared to the HST train so it might not be fair and the fact that the track loops which doesn't matter for this test because there would be alot of distence anyway also do class 800 electric mode Vs diesel mode

The HST a lot faster than The IET(class 800) because the HST can go 148MPH but the IET can only go 140MPH in diesel and electric mode. So the HST is 8mph faster than The IET by a long shot. So the true winner is The HST!
